Don't have a top 5 exactly, but I'd really like to see this one on UM:
Aaron Cody Stepp http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/s/stepp_aaron.html Stepp came from a troubled family, and his aunt was granted custody of him while his mother was in jail on a theft rap. The day before Stepp's mother was to be released from jail, and would naturally want to see her son, the aunt reports Cody missing - this despite the fact that no one can remember seeing the son for over a year prior. Police check the house and there is no sign that a young kid had been living there. His mother also testified that whenever she would call from prison, her mother and aunt would not let her speak to Cody. They were also receiving $279 a month in welfare benefits because of the child. Then it turns out that the grandmother may have previously beat to death a daughter of hers in 1964 and the whole thing looks terribly sinister. But one problem with the case is that that since he was reported missing both the aunt and grandmother have died, leaving the mother incredulous as to what happened. The main 2 theories are that either the aunt or grandmother beat Cody to death, or that they sold him to another family. |

This is a little to new for Unsolved Mysteries (2005) but hands down this case has haunted me ever since I read about it...
Richard Petrone and Danielle Imbo http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/...e_richard.html http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/..._danielle.html Best in depth article about the case.. http://www.phillymag.com/articles/wi...-imbo-petrone/ http://6abc.com/news/after-10-years-...e-imbo/511669/ |

I'm with the majority. I lean towards a professional hit. Probably by the ex husband. I wonder if they buried the truck ala Lisa Kimmel. I really hate the compactor theory. I hope they were deceased if/when that happened.

I agree about Dylatov Pass, even though other shows have covered it. |

Bethanie Lynne Dougherty
This case isn't to far from me, its a couple hours away and it in an extremely remote location. This would've been a perfect story for UM. Apparently she usually got up around 3am for her early morning job at a continent store and her habit was to go outside and have a cigarette when she got up in the morning. Still so creepy. http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/..._bethanie.html http://www.websleuths.com/forums/arc...p/t-62983.html |
