Because the job was interfering with her school work. DJ was so bent on having money to buy some stupid shoes that she didn't have her priorities straight. Before she even got the job, Danny warned her that her science grade was slipping and if she can stay on top on her schoolwork, she can keep the job. Well, as you recall, DJ got a big red F on her science test and she was afraid to face Danny with that truth. He told her what was going to happen but NO, she had Kimmy change her grade to a bad-looking A. Jesse saw through the forged grade and convinced her to tell Danny the truth,

I thought that was stupid that he wouldn't let her get a job. D.J. was a very good student and always got good grades (sure her science grade was slipping, but it wasn't a disaster) and never got in trouble. But yet Danny wouldn't let her get the shoes. It's not like the family was low on money, all three guys had high-paying jobs. If it was a responsibility thing, I would understand but D.J. was willing to work for the shoes and like I said before, she was a good student.

Was that the one where the money she did make, she put in the bank? That really aggravates me. Let the kid enjoy the money. And btw, I applaud DJ in this episode. How many times have you seen kids being forced to work(rightfully so) by there parents so that they can have money? She got a job on her own accord.

what would she have done with a measly $130 dollars- and that was her first and last paycheck? It shows responsibility that she put it in the bank- there was more to life than some blowout shoes.

Yeah I agree. It was responsible for her to put the money in the bank. I still don't understand why she had to get a job in the first place.

^^^ Danny wasn't going to give her so much money for a pair of shoes, $160.00 they were I believe, so D.J. went to her plan B which was getting a job and earning the money herself.

God bless you always!!!

I meant that it was stupid for her to get the job, because Danny and the guys all had high-paying jobs and D.J. was well-behaved and a good student. She could have done chores or something. But Danny refused to give her money for the shoes and then he had to be convinced to let her get a job to work for the shoes.
