I just watched the season 5 episode "going ape", and the spiral staircase that Lou Antonio crawled up at the photo shoot looked a lot like the staircase in the Monkees' pad. Has anyone else noticed this, or could anyone possibly verify it as true? Both shows were produced by Screen Gems, and it seems to me that the set of the Stevens' living room was used at least once on the Monkees.

I have noticed that shows shot at Columbia Studios/Screen Gems like Jeannie, Bewitched, Hazel, Gidget, Donna Reed, Monkees do use some of the same sets. But they usually re-dress them a bit to try and mask that it's a neighboring shows regular set.

I Dream of Jeannie used the exterior of the BW house often (as the Bellows house). They used the interior (heavily redressed) a few times. Only once did they use the BW house set at the interior of the Bellows house. The other times they used a generic set that in no way matched the exterior.
It must have bugged Liz that they used her set for a show she despised...it would have me (and I love IDOJ). |
