Geraldine McEwan was born in the right place to become an actress, near the Theatre Royal,Windsor before the age of mass television. She had a welter of acting parts under her belt before she was cast as Agatha Christie's Miss Marple following the death of Joan Hickson, who had played the part so impeccably over the years. She managed to juggle both career, marriage and motherhood with two children. She died in a London hospital following a stroke.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-31077192
I will particularly remember her for the Marple roles, and the skill of the scriptwriter in Toward's Zero for integrating the character into the novel, which Christie originally wrote without her famous detective taking part.http://youtu.be/qWEAfgVJ2_4 |
