Default Here we go again - Family Ties being taken off of UP starting Monday....

Here we go again with the Family Ties being on and off of UP. It was recently added back on thier schedule at 4 PM and 2 AM the past few weeks. I just looked at the UP scedule and it is being deleted again. What is it with UP that they keep on showing it and then cancelling it? Is it the ratings, do thier viewers complain about the show or what?

Maybe if they showed it at a better time it would do better as well.

Any thoughts from anyone?

That had to be a world's record for taken off a network so quickly. But people will have to face it. "Family Ties" like other shows, does not do well in
syndication. To me it's too dated to enjoy today.

Janet, I know what you are saying, however what makes Family Ties more dated than something like "The Honeymooners" or "Andy Griffith Show" ? Arent' they older than "Famiy Ties"?

Yes they are. But the producers on those shows were smart. Unlike Family Ties which you saw a lot of the dated 80's topics, you don't see much of the dated 50's and 60's topics in the "Andy Griffith show or "The Honemooners and they are a lot funnier than Family Ties. Honeymoomers is about husband and wife try to get along which is also true today and Andy Griffth is about a small town which alot of us wish we lived in. And it's about a Father and son relationship and people trying to get along. Which is true today.

If you don't have Netflix, get it. They have Family Ties on there and I believe they are the originally aired version instead of the syndicated versions.

They just better not have credit crunches on it. If they do I won't watch.
