I really hate to post this. I'm not one of those people who jumps at the chance to be the first one to post about somebody passing, but I'm doing this for fans who may not have heard yet. Sadly, after a long and valiant fight against brain cancer, yesterday, Desi Arnaz, Jr. lost his wife of more than 27 years, Amy Bargiel Arnaz, at the much too young age of 63. She also leaves behind her daughter, Haley. Amy and Desi were married on October 8, 1987, and she was clearly the love of his life.

It seems fate may have meant for them to be together. I remember a story Keith Thibodeaux told years ago about when Desi Jr. first told him about Amy. For those who don't know, Keith Thibodeaux was the child actor who played Little Ricky on I Love Lucy (contrary to popular belief, Desi Jr. never played the part, other than in the episodes when he was inside is Mom's tummy). During the years Keith was on the show, he and Desi Jr. became great (and lifelong) friends, and it was Keith who taught Desi Jr. to play the drums. Anyway, years later Desi Jr. and Keith got in touch and Desi told him about Amy, a ballet dancer. They were either about to marry or newly married. When Keith told this news to his own wife, Kathy, also a dancer, they came to realize that the Amy that Desi was marrying was the former dancing school roommate and friend of Keith's wife, Kathy! How incredible is that? Anyway, condolences to Desi and Haley and the entire Arnaz and Bargiel families, and their friends, in this difficult time.

Oh Wow. Very sad ! I know she was the love of his life. Poor Desi !
