The first one that comes to my mind is one I have pointed out before-- the Brussels sprouts episode. Eddie comes by and learns that Beaver will not get to go the football game the next night for not eating his sprouts, and Eddie says, "Look kid-- you've got nothing to worry about; I guarantee they'll take you....they'll let you suffer for a while, but then they'll come through with some sort of a deal." And thus it happened.

The episode when Wally and Beaver camped out in their backyard and it started raining and they didn't believe it when Eddie had told them about touching a tent from the inside would cause it to leak.

Wally " Boy that Eddie sure is a wise guy "

Those are some of the ones I was thinking of. How about Stocks and Bonds...Eddie told them about the over the counter stocks and advised them to buy Jet Electro. He said they could buy a basket of it...If they had initially started out buying Jet Electro at 50 cents a share they could have bought 200 shares. ($100) It goes from 50 cents to 3.50 a share (after they have already sold Mayfield Power to buy Jet). Anyway I figured they would have gotten about $600 until it tanked. If they sold it at $3.50 a share they would have been "wearing diamonds." How Eddie knew about this space age stock was amazing. This all happens in about 2 weeks.

In "Beaver's Big Contest" Eddie warns the Beav that Ward and June will take away anything he wins in the big raffle Beaver enters. And when Beaver wins a sports car Eddie is proved right.

I think Eddie is somewhat unfairly maligned... at the end of the day he cares about Beaver.

Not quite "Eddie was right" in something he told Beaver but at least once Eddie seemed to get the better of things in the end.

In "Wally's Play" (season 3), Wally was going to be in a play with his club in school. He didn't want to play the part of the dance hall girl but he makes the part look good to Eddie who asks the head of the club to go to Wally and see if he'll swap with him. Although we don't see the actual play, after it's over we find out Eddie played the part with vigor and was a big hit, and Ward suggests that (in some ways) Wally could be a little more like Eddie.

Those are all good examples of how Eddie showed his practical side. How about in Un-Togetherness. Eddie gets some information and almost inadvertently tells Ward and June how Wally will be rather down now that Lori Ann won't be around the whole summer. He says he'll try to cheer him up. Well that's all they need to know and go right back to the house and tell Wally he is coming to the lake. Eddie saves their vacation. I bet Lori Ann was bored all summer with her parents.
