Default Sammy Wheeler Murder Question

One of the funniest segment ever. "I am Michael Jordan". Pat says Danny is in love with her and then Danny says "I don't even find her that attractive. Who can ever forget crazy Bob Bean.

They turn around and accuse each other only to find out it was a random act of violence. My question is all I can't find is that Guy Price was found guilty of his murder. What was Guy's motive??? Was it robbery or do they get into some kind of fight???

Does anyone know?? Thanks

The segment mentioned Sammy had been sleeping in his vehicle. I would imagine he was targeted because of that and it was more a crime of opportunity. I think he went to go fishing, slept in his vehicle and was the only one around, the guy saw it and made his move.

Guy Jackson Price (white male, age unknown) is serving a life sentence at Augusta Correctional Center in Virginia. His wife said he went to jail in 1999. His first parole hearing was April 27, 2012. He was denied and it was deferred for 3 years.

In 2004 his wife stated she believed he did not commit the crime, that he was convicted on circumstantial evidence. In another post she says Guy's friend shot into what they believed was an empty car, and Guy kept his mouth shut to protect the friend. The friend later fingered Guy as the trigger man. The unsolved wiki site says, "(Guy Price) was identified after Sammy's family hired a private investigator who found a witness who saw Guy kill Sammy."

I found his wife (txwife) on a prison message board.

Her 2012 post, "they shot into what looked like an empty car, hit and killed the man asleep in it."

Here's the story of what happened to Sammy Wheeler:

I don't believe her story at all. Sammy Wheeler was sleeping in his car, so they would have had to go right up to the car to shoot him in that position, and at that point, they would have known there was somebody in there. She's also hardly an unbiased source.

I found a more detailed description of what the wife "says" happened that night. "They punish people who were in the wrong place and try to do right." Since when is covering up a murder trying to do right?

http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/arc...p/t-71738.html

My husband was with a "friend" from high school while he was on leave from the army. They were driving round looking at places they used to hang out when at one point they stopped and the "friend" got out of the car and shot at a parked vehicle. There was a man asleep inside who was hit and killed. My husband was stunned and but he keep his mouth shut to protect his friend. Six years later the "friend" was bragging to someone else, got picked up and said my husband did all the shooting. We used a public defender because we believed in the law and justice. Imagine our suprise when my husband, after being honest, went to jail and the other man was released and soon after ran. We were lucky and he is eligible for parole in 2012 but the laws are bad. They punish people who were in the wrong place and try to do right. My husband did not come forward that night because he feared what happened to your loved one. I guess he was just in a no win situation.

If anyone's interested a few more details...(for the full story click the link and search for txwife)

http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/arc...p/t-42684.html

I know they had guns in the car -specifically my father in laws 30.30 deer rifle. Kirk Bell, the friend, had several other guns. My husband had been drinking heavily all day and his friend had smoked several joints - I know my hubby didn't smoke because his next pee test 2 weeks later was clean. At one point they stopped and one or both of them fired into what looked like and empty vehicle. There was a man inside asleep and he was hit and killed almost instantly...There were 3 30cal slugs in the body and 3 22cal slugs.

So she claims that her husband is innocent, then claims "One or both of them shot into the car."

She also states that her husband "tried to do right and this is what happened." Yet in the same breath, admits he never did a damn thing to get cops to arrest 'the real perp.'

Uh yeah, her story is full of crap.

I'd still love to know his reason for killing him. Was it a random act of violence?

The plot thickens. Bob Bean was in the national guard with Guy Price's dad. Was it a murder for hire? Or a random act of violence? Kirk Bell was a career criminal and was later linked to the murder of a woman in Florida. Bob Bean was at a national guard base at the time of the murder, but I wonder if he was ever polygraphed to see if he had any connection to Sammy Wheeler's death.

It's sad to know that Wheeler's family only got justice for Guy Price, and Kirk Bell is walking around free to this day.

I'd need a lot more evidence to believe Bob Bean's association in this other than he may have known one of the perp's fathers (and it's impossible to say how well he knew him.) If Bob Bean hired Guy Price, then what was the reason for Kirk Bell being there?

LOL! I love the blaming of the public defender in her story. You all know I'm a former public defender. And even now as a prosecutor, I would argue that some of the BEST trial attorneys I have seen come out of the public defender's office. Why? Because of the sheer amount of time they spend in court. At the time I left the Public Defender's Office, I had done no less than 30 jury trials in 4 years. This is more court time than many lawyers will have in their entire career.

I realize every jurisdiction is different, but I would have no problem entrusting my case to a public defender if charged with a crime.... I struggle to understand the constant habit of throwing the public defender under the bus.

My story was not full of crap. He was there. He should have been home. I only had to go on what he said, what the crime scene showed and the autopsy report and all of the billions of pages of paperwork from the trial transcript. You can be mean and nasty all you want. I have no idea if he shot the deer rifle. I do know that Kirk Bell was a vandal. He was known in the area as one. He shot at signs, the water tower, you name it. It would not be out of character for him to shoot at what looked like an empty car in a very dark parking lot. You idiots did not read the autopsy like I did. YOU did not listen to the prosecutor lie in the court room like I did. Sammy was laying down across the back seat and the shots were fired at an angle thru the side rear window of his Isuzu Trooper. There was no way you could see if there was a person or not in that vehicle in that pitch black parking lot. There were not lights anywhere near where he was. I do know that the trajectory of the shells recovered indicated that he was laying down. One went into the body cavity and ricochetted around, one was thru a leg and I think the third was into the lower body. He would have died in minutes. Then the police say that they came back hours later and shot the 22 into the body. The autopsy did not indicate that those were fired after death. The police also had pieces of evidence that since it did not fit their narrative was not submitted into evidence. They cant do that now. The laws have changed because of that crap. I really don't know if Guy killed him or if Kirk did and the evidence does not indicate one way of the other. What I do know is that I was young and stupid. Guy was the protector type not the destroyer type. Thats why I married him. I did not know about the other stuff until years later when I finally watched the Unsolved Mysteries episode. I did not know that the soon to be ex was national guard and when I saw that it was really odd. I want to believe that the man I married would not just kill someone and honestly I do think that it was 2 drunk idiots that did something stupid. There was an attorney friend of Guys dad that I think Guy talked to right after that night. He had died a few years before Guy was arrested. Kirk was picked up and was their star wittness because he was high and drunk and saw the Unsolved Mysteries show and told his buddy that they could make some money. Guess they did.

Sad thing is that I liked the public defender he just was not experienced yet and was not the bulldog Guy needed. He was kind and passive.

Well it’s very clear (if it wasn’t before), Bob Bean is certainly innocent of any involvement.

Two dumbass hillbillies getting drunk and high and being stupid with firearms, who eventually pointed the finger at each other. There’s a 0% chance that these morons would keep quiet about Bob Bean if he had paid them to kill Sammy.
