Has anyone heard any news on Conrad Bain? What is he doing these days? I wonder if given the chance, would he do a Different Strokes reunion?

I don't think he does anyting now, I think he retired in 1990.
Since then he apeared briefly in an episode of "The Fresh Prince" playing Mr Drummond. He is 79 now. |

Thank you for your reply Chris. Do you ever think a reunion would ever come about? And how would the idea come to life? I would think all of the original cast members would love to have a reunion.

I just found this on TV Land's site too-
The Canadian-born actor Conrad Bain spent most of his career on the stage, with brief stints on the soap operas Love of Life, Dark Shadows and Edge of Night. He appeared in a few small roles in films like Woody Allen's Bananas and Clint Eastwood's Coogan's Bluff before being spotted by Norman Lear in a small New York stage production. Bain left an impression on Lear and was recruited for the role of the Findlays' next-door neighbor, Arthur, on Maude. Although Maude was his first major television gig, Bain's signature role was that of Mr. Drummond on the series Diff'rent Strokes, which ran from 1978 to 1986. Bain is living the quiet life these days, though he does do guest spots from time to time. It would be great to have a reunion, all the main cast would do it I'm fairly sure. They could say something like Kimberly is working abroad. |

You know Chris your right. I mean they did recently have a Facts Of Life reunion, but that was really different from the original series. I would like to see a Different Strokes reunion with the same set they used in the original show. I was thinking if anyone wishes to they can call the screen actors guild and find out the correct contact names and numbers for the cast members agents. If alot of us want to see a reunion we should not just wish it because it takes real action to get something done. Remember we are what keeps television in business, we are the audience the food television survives on. So anyone that wants a reunion call the Screen Actors Guild in New York City, just call information for 212-555-1212. Write letters to agents or speak with them on the phone. Male your dreams become reality all Different Strokes fans. Let's all work together.

Not every show warrants a reunion project. For obvious and not-so-obvious reunions, I think Diff'rent Strokes should stay reunionless. Besides, I really don't think Todd Bridges or Conrad Bain would be up for it.
