I hope I don't hurt anyone's feelings by posting this but I am getting sick and tired of coming into this forum and seeing nothing but polls.
They were fun at first but now it seems half a dozen new ones are started every day. For me they are getting old real fast. Why do we need so many polls? Can't we just have debates instead? I was scrolling through the pages here, and the type of discussion that used to go on was really good and made very intresting reading. Polls don't make intresting reading, at least I don' think so. So I say, cool it with them. Or at least don't have so darn many. I hope other's agree with me about this. |

I think the issue has been solved by creating a seperate board for polls only.
It may have seemed like there were 5-6 new polls every day, but that wasn't the case. There have only been around 80 polls total since early December. The thing was that they were bumped back to the top everytime somebody voted, so some people must have gone back and voted in about 40 of them and they all appeared on the 1st page and gave the impression that all these new polls were created. The polls work best when people vote in them AND write down why they voted that way. |

SitcomChick, I'm not disagreeing but like TJ said, there weren't many new polls created at all everyday, it's just that they bump up when someone votes. But with the new page, the polls being bumped up won't interfere with the discussion threads.

I thought when I came in a few days ago, the polls were on a separate page. Now they seem to be mixed in with the regular posts again. Or was I imagining that they were briefly separate?

True, it was set up that way for a day and then I thought better of it. It would kill the activity on the main board and people wouldn't go to the polls board to vote.. so I changed the settings so when a person votes it won't bump it back to the top unless they actually say something.
