With the passing of Carol Ann Susi, who voiced Howard's mother, Mrs. Wolowitz, I'm wondering how the producers and writers will address this on the show.
Personally, I'm not in favor of another voice actress taking over the role. I think they should do an episode where we find out that Mrs. Wolowitz passed away and how Howard is dealing with it. Another option would be to just not reference the character again and just go on, but the mother/son relationship between Mrs. W and Howard has been built up so much over the last eight years that I think to do that would be chickening out of dealing with the issue. I think this could also present an opportunity for the character of Howard to grow as he is forced to move on with his mother gone. What do you guys/girls think? |

Like I said, I think they should just establish that she passed away and we're seeing the aftermath of how everyone, but mainly how Howard and Bernadette are dealing with it. |

It looks like we have our answer...
**************************** The Big Bang Theory will bid farewell to Mrs. Wolowitz later this month, and, by extension, pay tribute to the unseen character’s late portrayer, Carol Ann Susi. TVLine has confirmed that the CBS sitcom’s Feb. 19 episode — “The Comic Book Store Regeneration” — finds Howard grappling with shocking news concerning his mother. The (presumably) tragic turn of events coincides with the reopening of Stuart’s comic book store — a shop that, much to Howard’s shock and awe, features a new seating area filled with furniture from his mom’s home. This is the same episode that features a guest turn by Nathan Fillion, although the Castle actor does not figure into the Mrs. Wolowitz subplot. Susi died last November after a short battle with an aggressive form of cancer. She was 62. |

I'm glad they're going to deal with the character's fate and not have another actress voice the role.
And I'm glad that Stuart is re-opening his comic book store. They need that place to gather. And using some of Mrs. Wolowitz's furniture in the new store is a nice touch. |

And we'll see how this affects Howard played out over the next few episodes. Still, in death as in life, Mrs. Wolowitz provides laughs, as evidenced by the preview for next week's show. |

I asked this before, but have you ever listened to a radio show everyday and was hearing the DJ or DJs voices and if you did not know who they were, wondered what the person looks like?
I just now looked up Carol Ann Susi, and she is basically what I thought she looked like, overweight, and either Jewish or Italian. Basically I always pictured Roseanne Barr for the character, but a much larger and grotesque version of Barr. Wolowitz to me is the guy who in the first season was really weird, some goofball who thought he was cool but could not score with chicks, or women he really wanted, and then over the seasons grew up, to where he was one of the more mature of the other men. Sheldon is 42 acting like a 12 year old, and Leonard just wont move on from this man child and marry his woman and go on with his life. I would have been mad about the furniture in the new comic book store myself. I am amazed that there are comic book stores now. |

Just get someone else to do the voice. No offense to the actress, but she was not big a part of the show.

Getting someone else to do the voice would be morbid. You either kill her off or never mention her again.

I'm thinking that they will just decide not to mention her again. She probably won't die off or anything like that. She will just not be mentioned again like she just disappeared.

They killed her off. They dropped it in at the end of last week's episode.

Here's an even better clip of Carol Ann Susi from Becker. She sounds much closer to Mrs. Wolowitz in this clip:
