A recurring story is that Dwight owns a farm and grows beets.
Who eats beets? They are disgusting to most people. But people do eat them and one can get a can of beets. Are beets a staple in any culture? If I had a farm near Scranton, what would I grow? Wheat? Corn? But again, someone eats beets and one can buy it in the store so someone grows it. My mother told me as a child she fed me beets and I threw them up. Hated The Farm did not come to fruition! |

I had a friend who loved canned beets in her green salad! She said they were good for energy and iron! When I had dinner at her house I would have a couple of beets in my salad too. They were Ok , but I wouldn't ever buy them myself to eat at home.
Beets were Mrs. Howell's favorite veggie! LOL. Remember when those seeds washed up on shore and they planted a garden? Mrs. Howell ate so many "sugar beets " she was running all around the island like she was on speed or too much coffee! |
