I have been teasing my brother about his thinning hair, but I think he is starting to feel bad about it and I feel baaaadddd about giving him a hard time about it. Is this really something that men get offended about? Now, I have to make it up to him. Any ideas? other than buying him a bottle of Jack Daniels?

Hi! Welcome to the boards! There's an old saying; "Least said soonest mended". Just stop teasing him about it. Some people (not just men) are very touchy about their appearance. Apparently he's one of them.

I agree ... we made a deal. No more teasing about my weight and I will not tease him about his head.

Nah ... I think he has moved on. Thanks for the advice!

Hi !! I also welcome you to the boards!!! It's funny because when my brother was a teenager and was growing his hair long in the early 70's and my Dad was on his case telling him he needed a haircut, cause he looked like a bum! And my brother pretty much was like Dad wishes he could grow his hair long like this , because my dad was balding!!! LOL Now turns out my brother ended up BALDER than my Dad ever was! But he doesn't seem to mind. These days with the buzz cuts and its acceptable to wear ball caps , I find men aren't as sensitive about getting bald! My hubby too. His hair has thinned a bit, and he could care less!

That is interesting. My brother seems to be ok with it. On the other hand, he has friends who are seriously considering hair treatments. I think one actually started his. I told my brother that is extreme although, I did went to great lengths to lose weight and even get a non invasive lipo.

Cool

I'm a 50 year old man with thinning hair. And to me it's no big deal. I figure with or without hair I'm still the same person. For some men it is a big deal though. That's why there's hairplugs, transplants, toupees, rogaine etc!! To each his own I guess!

I have an older sister who is 25 years old and older brother who is just 1 year older than me at 14 and a younger sister who is 10. We have all fought at times and teased each other especially me, my older brother and younger sister. My older sister is 12 years older than me so she was usually too grown up for any of that stuff.
