Movie FORBES: "Top 10 Highest-Grossing Actors of 2014"

The Highest Grossing Actors at the Box Office 2014

1. Jennifer Lawrence
Global Box Office: $1.4 Billion

Lawrence starred in two giant blockbuster hits this year: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and X-Men: Days of Future Past.

With another Hunger Games movie on tap for 2015 she'll continue to be big at the box office.

2. Chris Pratt
Global Box Office: $1.2 Billion

Guardians of the Galaxy was the surprise hit of 2014 giving Pratt $772 at the box office.

But he also lent his voice to The Lego Movie as lead Lego Emmet.

3. Scarlett Johansson
Global Box Office: $1.18 Billion

Johansson had a huge year. Not only did she give birth to her first child (a daughter) but she co-starred in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, one of the biggest movies of the year.

Her number here is rounded out by box office money from Lucy and Under the Skin.

4. Mark Wahlberg
Global Box Office: $1 Billion

Wahlberg surprised many people when he agreed to star in the fourth Transformers movie but fans were excited. Age of Extinction was a huge hit.

Wahlberg could be back for the next installment.

5. Chris Evans
Global Box Office: $801 Million

The second Captain America movie was a huge hit.

Evans earned a bit more from Snowpiercer which was a big VOD hit and also earned plenty overseas.

6. Emma Stone
Global Box Office: $764 Million

Stone tops her Spider-Man costar on this list because of the Woody Allen movie Magic in the Moonlight, which earned $33 million, and Birdman which has so far brought in $23 million.

7. Angelina Jolie
Global Box Office: $758 Million

Jolie had the biggest hit of her career with Maleficent, a new take on the Sleeping Beauty story that made us sympathetic for the bad guy.

8. James McAvoy
Global Box Office: $747 Million

McAvoy is one of four actor who land on our list thanks to X-Men: Days of Future Past. The most recent X-Men film was the highest grossing of the series.

McAvoy gets a little extra boost from his smaller film, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby.

9. Michael Fassbender
Global Box Office: $746 Million

Fassbender can be painfully intense in movies like Shame and 12 Years a Slave.

But as a young Magneto in the X-Men series he shows his lighter side.

10. Hugh Jackman
Global Box Office: $746 Million

Jackman is probably the most-famous of the X-Men but Days of Future Past was his only movie this year.

Next year he'll star in Pan about Neverland at the moment when Peter Pan arrived.

Glad to see Mark Wahlberg on that list at #4. I like him and he's a good actor. I'm gonna see his new movie The Gambler tomorrow. I like his brother Donnie too. I watch Blue Bloods sometimes. I was watching reruns of it a couple of days ago on Ion network. Donnie is very tough on that show. I miss his old female partner Jennifer Esposito because she's cute. She had to leave because of a health issue. I notice most of the actors on the highest grossing list have done comic book movies and those movies make a lot of money. I've never been a fan of comic book or cartoon movies.

Yeah I wonder when A-listers like Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks and Tom Cruise will jump on the superhero bandwagon?

I don't think they ever will do comic book movies. Leonardo Dicaprio is a overrated actor to me and he plays in a lot of boring movies hahahahahahahahahahaha. Only movie of his I liked was The Departed. I'm sure Tom Hanks and Tom Cruise don't care anymore if their movies don't make a lot of money. They've had a long successful career.

And the only ones I've liked from him are A Boy's Life, Catch Me If You Can and Inception, I don't know why Leo doesn't step out of his comfort zone and do a raunchy comedy for once or maybe a true balls to the wall action movie.

I can tell you why he won't do those type of movies because he's not that type of guy LOL. Matt Damon is the same way. Most of his movies suck. The Departed is the only movie of his I liked. Leonardo played in a movie with Mark Wahlberg called The Basketball Diaries. I saw the previews for that and it looked good. I might check that out. I like Mark. He does a lot of good movies. I wanna see his new movie The Gambler but I'm gonna wait for it to come to video. I like his brother Donnie too. They're both tough guys because they came from a tough neighborhood in Boston. I'm glad Mark decided to stop rapping hahahahahahahahahahaha.

And the thing that perplexes me is that all these artsy fartsy movies that are only made to get award nominations only make but a fraction of the bigger blockbuster films but yet guys who star in them like Leonardo DiCaprio, Daniel Day-Lewis get bigger paychecks than lets say for example Chris Evans or James McAvoy.

It's really a shame Michael Jackson didn't make Brooke Shields his woman because she's cuter than the women he married LOL. I bet he didn't have sex with her LOL.
