I keep a running list of Gorilla Monsoon catch phrases (said list is up to about 85 or so). What are some of your favorite Gorilla Monsoon clichés?
Here are a few of mine: "Getting down to the nitty gritty" (used in a royal rumble when there are like 15 people left). "Look at the 360!" (used to describe any angle from 180 - 360 degrees) "They're literally hanging from the rafters!" (Gorilla never did get the hang of the word 'literally'). "Jam-packed to the rafters" is a variant. "I'll have you taken right out of here" (I always loved that Gorilla implied he had a bunch of security guards at various points in the building just waiting to escort Heenan out). |

"Please!"
On the rare occasions where there was blood, I think he would say that so-and-so is lacerated (or some other term to avoid the word "bleeding"). |

"Highly unlikely!"
"Fountain of misinformation" (any heel manager) "He's not hooking the leg - he'll never win like that!" (followed by the guy eventually getting the pinfall without hooking the leg, at least half of the time) "___ is a tough customer." (for S.D. Jones, Terry Gibbs, Lanny Poffo, Jerry Allen types - who aren't complete rag dolls and get some offense in, but eventually lose to the opponent's finisher) "Miscarriage of justice" (whenever a heel wins through illegal tactics) "Stick a fork in him, he's done!" "He doesn't know a wristlock from a wristwatch!" Gorilla Monsoon really was a cliche machine

“This place is going BANANAS.”
“It’s the irrestible force meeting the immovable object.” (To Bobby Heenan): “Will you stop? I will have you thrown out of here.” (In response to a title change): “History has been made.” |
