After Christmas is the best time to get the deals on Craigslist. It's been my experience that people are willing to negotiate a deal for even less than they normally would on CL right after Xmas. I think because people are broke or low on money and need the money badly.
Last year I ran across an iPhone 5 in very good condition that a girl was selling because she got an iPhone 5s for xmas and needed the money badly. She wanted $350 for it. Was a 32GB I talked her down to $200, which was all I had. I still have it today. 2 years ago I bought a car on CL after xmas. It was a 2000 Honda accord EX 135K on it. very good condition with no rust. had remote start and CD changer plus alarm system. The guy and his wife bought a new one. He wanted $3500 for it, but he had allot tire kickers and no buyers. Desperately needing the money being broke after xmas, I talked him down to $1800. He didn't accept it at first, but called me 4 days later and said okay. I'll take it. I don't have it anymore, as I sold after buying a newer Honda myself, but that's an example of the kind of deals u can come across after xmas. Not all people will accept these kind of offers, more of them will not but some will. And it is an easy way to make a few extra bucks on the side reselling for some extra dollars. It takes patience and the willingness to keep trying. And maybe a little gas in the car. Good Luck. |
