Add another accuser to the line of women stepping forward to claim Bill Cosby raped them decades ago.

This time, the woman is Katherine McKee, a sometime actress and former Las Vegas showgirl best known as the late Sammy Davis Jr.'s former mistress, who traveled with him as his "road wife."

McKee, now 65, told the New York Daily News that Cosby grabbed her and raped her in a Detroit hotel room in the early 1970s when she was in town with Davis and Cosby was in town, too.

At the time, she and Cosby were friends, through her relationship with Davis and his Rat Pack pals. She even appeared on The Bill Cosby Show in 1971, before the alleged attack.

"He was a buddy. He knew I was Sammy's girl," she said, explaining why she accepted an invitation from Cosby to attend a party on a boat in Detroit.

She says he grabbed her the moment she walked in his hotel room with an order of barbecue ribs.

"We were still standing at the door when he attacked me," she told the Daily News. "It was so fast and so shocking and so unbelievable."

She never told a soul, not even Davis; she was afraid to tell him, she said. Instead, she forced herself not to think about it.

Since this summer, somewhere north of 24 women have publicly asserted that Cosby drugged and assaulted them in decades past. All these assertions and the attendant media coverage have helped flush out her memories, McKee says.

And in the interim, attitudes about rape have changed, too.

"It was a rape, but it seemed so strange to call it that. We think of rape as a stranger who attacks you in a parking lot," she told the paper.

Like many of the other accusers, McKee's alleged assault happened so long ago that the statute of limitations has long expired, although at least one accuser claims she was assaulted in 2008 and hopes to pursue criminal charges against him.

Cosby also is facing at least two civil lawsuits stemming from the accusations, though legal experts suggest these plaintiffs may find it hard to prevail.

Cosby has said little in response to the accusations except to deny them through his lawyer, Martin Singer, who has angrily denounced the accusers and their claims. Singer also has denounced the media for reporting on what the accusers have asserted without first checking their backgrounds.

McKee said she was baffled by Camille Cosby's statement last week defending her husband of half a century and suggesting he was the true victim.

"I knew (Camille). We'd been to dinner, all of us, many times," McKee said. "This is not a stupid woman. She has her head buried in the sand."
