Default Too Close For Comfort vs. Three's Company

I always felt these two shows were similar at least superficially wise. From the shows titles to the characters...there is something vaguely identical.

Monroe=Jack
Henry=Stanley
Muriel=Helen
Jackie=Janet
Sara=Chrissy

And I don't mean their personalities but visually speaking.

Anyways, which show do you prefer? By my avatar you can probably tell which one I voted for.

I just tuned in to look at what's her name. That pretty much covers it.

I think of Monroe as being more like a younger Ralph Furley. He's nothing like Jack at all, visually or otherwise. I vote for "Three's Company".

I voted Three's Company

TCFC just feels like its another clone but with not that many sexual overtones and Monroe behaves way too dumb and naive for a grown man.

I love both of them but I would probably go with Three's Company. And it's spin the Ropers and Three's a Crowd are great too.

I haven't seen that many episodes of "Too" but I would buy a complete set if it were released.

I voted for "Three's" because I've always loved the show and watch it all the time.

I always found the episodes when Henry's father would guest star incredibly boring.

And it seemed that everything either occured in Henry and Muriel's apartment or the girls downstairs, they never hung out at a bar or restaurant like Three's Company Regal Beagle, we never even once saw the inside of Monroe's bedroom that was built in the kitchen.

I went with TCFC...it's also based on a British Sitcom like TC.

But Ted Knight seems more likable by then...too bad he died while the show still had some legs to it.

I would put them in this order:

1. Babe factor.
2. Ted Knight.
3. Fewer episodes
4. Sweatshirts.

Agreed. Lydia Cornell was the hottest thing on TV then and her tight shirts and shorts made the show must see TV. All of the elementary school smutty humor on Three's Company wore thin very quickly.

I prefer TCFC. I love the smooth-jazz like theme, the plots were less repetitive than TC and the characters a lot more likable, although Janet is my all-time favorite on TC.

I was never Gaga over Three's Company, but really like Ted Knight a lot; so I voted for Too Close For Comfort.

On Too Close for Comfort, anyone else prefer the dark haired sister over the blonde? She was the hottie!

Joyce Dewitt was also the best looking one on Threes Company (unless you were into grandma love, then Mrs. Roper). Dark hair and brown eyes win EVERYTIME!
