Most women love shopping for shoes. Do you?
I like shopping, but not for shoes. Clothes shopping can be fun, but it's something about shoes, that it's boring to me. It could be that because my vision isn't good that it's not exciting, yet other types of shopping are fun. I think the most boring type of store is a hardware store. |

I used to really love it when I was younger. I wore sexy heals and wedges(when I wore shoes) I'm a barefoot kinda gal as much as I can be. After I got older and I sprained my ankle really bad the heals got lower and the shoes more practical! But yes, I do like to buy new shoes. They seem so fresh and smell good. Mainly I buy sandals, flip flops & mocassins for the cold weather the most. I wear cute ankle boots with a heal when I dress up!
And clothes , the same ! I enjoyed clothes shopping more when I was younger and thinner too. But yeah it is nice to get new things, even if the size is a little bigger and the style not as sexy! Like the shoes , it's so nice and fresh! Mainly lately I like to shop for new things for the house the best! |

Yes, especially sandals for summer. Clothes shopping is my favorite though.

Do you like it when the salesman touches your feet?

Well, considering that my feet are like twice as big as other women's feet, it can be hard for me to find good-looking shoes. And as I'm rather fat as well, I have to say the same thing about finding good-looking clothes. So nah, I don't buy too many shoes or clothes.

Oh Lord!!!! To be honest it has been a long time since I have had a shoe salesman touch my feet. I usually shop for shoes at places that the shoes are on display and you get them yourself, or if not you just ask the sales person for your size and they bring you the box of shoes. I'm ticklish , when I get Pedi's I get to giggling sometimes and that is with a girl touching my feet. If I had a salesman touching my feet, Lord knows what might happen!

I used to love buying shoes until my feet decided to go from size 10 to 10.5. 10.5 is too darn hard to find.

![]() For the most part I don't buy shoes where there are sales people that have to come in contact with my feet...but when I do shop there and it does happen like a few months ago when I was buying a new pair of boots...it really didn't bother me at all the sales person was nice and we were chatting about our fave football team the Chicago Bears and I guess I really didn't think about it much....LOL ![]() HIPPIE HOLIDAZE

Shoe salespeople touching their customer's feet must be an American thing, because it has never happened to me.

The mention of a saleman touching your feet to fit you with shoes, makes me think of Al Bundy from Married With Children.

Decades ago, shoe stores would have clerks to sell you shoes. It was the only way you did buy shoes. When big box stores came, out when the salesclerks and you were on you own. Just today I bought a pair of shoes. I find it strange when I do find a shoe store with a clerk to fit your feet for I am so use to self service.

I know! I was thinking that too! As kids I remember Mom taking us for new shoes and the clerks always put them on our feet for us to try, Now I don't know of any store that do that. Maybe there were a few salesmen that had a thing with women's feet, and it creaped women out and they got complaints and did away with it.

Whenever I buy shoes now, I either get them myself or tell a sales clerk what size I need. I like picking out sandals & tennis shoes, but hate shopping for dress shoes (like shoes for a wedding, funeral etc. they always end up hurting my feet). I have to have steel-toe shoes for my factory job and solid black walking shoes for my waitress job. I always get a 1/2 size bigger than I normally wear since I'm standing & walking so much, I aim for comfort with my work shoes. |
