A fan-favorite character is returning to "Supernatural" and we couldn't be more pumped about it. Later this season, fans will finally get to see the long-awaited return of Cain!

Played by "Psych" alum Tim Omundson, Cain — of the biblical story of Cain and Abel — was first introduced to the CW show last season in the episode, 'First Born'. Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Crowley (Mark Sheppard) tracked down the legendary killer when they were searching for the First Blade in order to kill Abaddon (Alaina Huffman).

They more than succeeded in their mission in offing the Knight of Hell, but only because Cain passed off his Mark to Dean, giving him the ability to wield the blade.



Of course, we all know what happened next: when Dean was killed, he became a demon, and although Sam (Jared Padalecki) recently cured Dean of being a demon, he's still very much affected by the Mark of Cain, unable to resist the urge to kill and feed the Mark.

So it's a good thing that Cain is returning, presumably to shed some light on how to live with the Mark, or maybe —hopefully! — take it back from Dean!





Omundson broke the news of his epic return to "Supernatural" Friday on Twitter.
