Default What Movie or Movie Scenes REALLY scared you?

I have several movies: Nightmare on Elm Steet is pretty scary! (First One) The Entity is chilling...(About a woman posessed by a supernatural force, supposedly based on a true story)

Two scenes that terrify me in specific movies though to this day, which I saw as a kid. One is "The Boys From Brazil", near the end of the film where Gregory Peck is in that farmhouse with about 6 vicious Dobermans (It is very disturbing to watch...if you fear big dogs, DO NOT watch this movie!)

And in Mary Poppins, I hate, absolutely hate, that laughing guy in the movie that floats on the ceiling! ( His voice, his face, everything about him just FREAKS me out) It's like I CANNOT watch that scene in that movie. (Played by Ed Wynn)

I used to have nightmares about that.

Abby: Against my better judgment and everything I hold sacred in life I covered for you, so you owe me.
Carter: Thank you.
Abby: Mmhmm, sure. Also, I told her I dumped you.
Carter: (laughs) You dumped me? She believe you?
Abby: ‘Course she did why wouldn’t she?
Carter: Well, it’s just... you’d never dump me.
Abby:I would dump you like a bad habit.
Carter: Oh no. I'd definitely dump you first.
Abby: In your dreams maybe.
Carter: Oh I would dump you.
Abby: Wouldn’t.

Cool

Independance Day and Jurassic Park both scared the crap out of me! I didn't even want to see those movies in the first place. I went by parental force.

IT

Anything and everything about that movie freaked me out when I first saw it! I never wanted to look in a sewer again! And then the fortUne cookie scene! *shudders* Okay, I think I said enough.

I hope my image isn't too scary. And if you want to close your eyes (*hint*hint*Karli*) you can go right ahead.

The shower scene in the original Psycho tops my list for the scariest movie scene.
Also, Reservior Dogs was wild--in the warehouse when Michael Madson had the cop tied to the chair and cut his ear off while dancing to the song Stuck in the Middle with You.
The Shining freaks me out too. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, lol.
Notable mentions--the first Nightmare on Elm Street, Drew Barrymore's opening scene in Scream--never saw that one coming. The Exorcist was off the charts on the scary meter too.
The WishMaster movies have some creepy scenes too.
Pacific Heights and Fatal Attraction were good psycholgical thrillers.

Well you see, in order to get to the bottom of the posts, I HAD to scroll down... and I HAD to see what I was doing.

In conclusion, I was forced to look at that diabolical scary clown.

*runs for her life* and yes it WAS SCARY!!!!!

The scene from "I know What You Did Last Summer" when they dump the body into the lake and the body's eyes open under water -- I had never before screamed during a movie (in the theater) and haven't since. When I was little, the bigfoot from "Harry and the Hendersons" freaked me out, but I love the movie now.

Anyone remember the Children-Catcher from CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG? I had nightmares for years!

I can't begin to mention all of the scary movies I've seen. Let me just say that my mom is a HUGE Stephen King fan. While you guys were watching PETER PAN, I was watching PET CEMETARY and THE SHINING. I first saw IT when I was 7 years old! You know what, this would explain a lot about me...

The first movie I can remember scaring me was Ghost Busters I know I know, but give me a break, I was like 5 or something like that.

My siblings and I had gone to the drive in theater and were watching several movies. One of them was GhostBusters. The part that scared me was at the very beginning, the ghost in the Library. I can remember diving in the backseat under the covers and pulling them over my head. Then I peeped over the back seat to see if it was over yet or not

If you ever saw "Candyman Day of the Dead" they have this ******** boy who goes to use a public bathroom with out telling his mom and he goes there and the candyman comes and he slashes the boy in the bathroom and when they find the boy's body the whole toilet is full of bees.
