Southern California weather question

I always wondered why everyone dressed in long sleeves, turtlenecks, blazers and corduroy pants, especially in the first four seasons. Chrissy especially had a penchant for warm clothing, but many times the other characters dressed like that, too. I've heard it gets chilly in the evening in Santa Monica because it's near the water, but they wore this stuff to work. Is it really that cold in SoCo?

Or do you think it was to cue the audience as to what season it was "supposed" to be?

I live on the east coast so I don't know.

I thought women are by nature just cold all the time? Living in Texas, it can get to be well over 100 degrees in the summertime but there will still be women wearing jackets at their desks at work on a 100 degree day because the air conditioning is too cold for them.

LOL good point...my husband says I have ice in my veins. I remember Chrissy wearing turtlenecks on Saturdays. I wonder if the apartment was cold? I'm probably overthinking it.

Also, Terri rarely wore fall/winter clothing. She was always in a t-shirt or sleeveless dress. Much more "California" appropriate.

I live in Los Angeles and it doesn't get that cold at nights except in the Winter season of course, as for the blazers and turtlenecks maybe it was a 70's thing.
