Science Channel's 'Mythbusters' Mega-Marathon to Air for 10 Days

Science Channel is planning the ultimate Mythbusters programming event: EW can exclusively report the cable channel is scheduling a 10-day Mythbusters mega-marathon.

That’s 220 episodes from nine seasons of the veteran cable science hit airing back-to-back starting Dec. 24 at 6 a.m. and concluding 10 days later on Jan. 2 (technically — and the Mythbusters gang is nothing if not technical — the marathon takes 9.5 days). So you can literally start watching the Mythbusters marathon before Christmas and not stop until a couple days into the next year. Let the chant begin: Test, build, explode, repeat!

Science Channel’s stunt follows up FXX setting a TV marathon record by airing every Simpsons episode across 12 days starting in August (so yes: “Simpsons did it!”).

Now long-time Mythbusters ultra-fans are probably saying: Waaaait a minute, Mythbusters has been on the air for 13 seasons, this marathon could have been even longer! And you are correct. This isn’t the entire Mythbusters catalog, but it’s a far, far longer marathon than anybody can stay awake to watch in its entirety — that’s one experiment that even Jamie and Adam wouldn’t attempt.
