Question Your Christmas shopping

How's it going? I'm mostly gift cards, so no stress for me.

i've got 7 nieces and nephews to shop for - I tried asking them what they want, but it's tough so I just asked my youngest niece and she said that they all want pretty pink penguin princess stuff; the boys may not be happy about it though.

I'm keeping it simple and low-key mostly with gift cards - especially to Trader Joe's

I start early, so I'm done. I have 6 family members to buy for, I mainly shop online plus I give either money or gift cards. What really helps is that I save up for Christmas. Every week I put away 5 dollars and all the change I get back I put away. Plus money found on the ground. Then I count it and roll it and take to the bank. It really helps put.

Just need to get something for my mom, my brother, his significant other, my sister, and a good friend of mine...I didn't want to give-out gifts this year because I'm in school and living by myself (I haven't even decorated my tree let alone bring it up) but Christmas is coming closer so...

It's still coming together, but it's mostly complete. All I have to say is--Thank God for Amazon Prime.

Smile Christmas Shopping

I've been working on it.

I got my mother a cd.
I got my sister a cd.
I got my mother's husband and his co-workers a coffee table book that has photographs of dogs.
I'm working on gifts for my brother and his family.

And of course a gift for my Best Friend!

Crazy

All my shopping is DONE!

On the goofy side of things I sent a box full of DVDs to a family in Texas who may be related to a Pen Pal I corresponded with in the late 1980s. Consisting of 17 different TV Series (Three of them Complete), 33 Movies, and some Christmas Storybooks, Coloring Books, Music CDs and DVDs.

All of them were duplicates I invariably end up getting while "Garage Saleing" throughout the year. I'd normally give them to a friend's family, but for some reason I fell out of their favor this year. Since I cannot give this family any of my surplus DVDs I sent it to Texas instead.

I cannot help but wonder what the people in Texas are thinking about the package I sent them (The Set with these items are wrapped, and bear a tag that reads "Do not open until Christmas" and "No abrir hasta Navidad", as well as "Merry Christmas" and "Feliz Navidad"). Also included are several of my favorite recipes including this @$$kicking Cheese Ball Recipe:

Oh well, it's in their hands now

I take it, you don't like to shop. The gift giving ritual is overboard. I buy what I want during the year for myself. Wrap it and my family does the same and we just look at what the other person bought.

I don't think Christmas was like this 200 years ago. You had clothes, a home and food and that was your gift of life.

I started shopping early and I am done....yay!!...all wrapped and ready to go...and boy am I glad I did...I got really sick with a severe sinus infection and then had a horrible allergic reaction to the meds prescribed so I have been trying to heal up for the last two weeks.

I'm just doing gift cards (well, except for one thing-I sent a gift basket to my physical therapy place) to make it a lot easier-I just have to go up the street to the CVS and I can go anytime , even wait until 9:00 at night on Christmas eve!!!

(it takes 5 minutes to drive to it but it takes me a half hour in my wheelchair )

Biggrin My Favorite Shopping Day of the Year

My Signature (You need to read my previous post) says it all. Today is my favorite shopping day of the holiday season. On the Thursday before Christmas PUBLIX (A Florida Grocery Store Chain) INVARIABLY MARKS DOWN their Rib Roasts (This year they went from $11.99 a pound to $7.39 a pound!). It took me less than one hour for me to relieve three stores of a dozen of these little buggers, using my EBT Card (Which I haven't used since August) to procure them. It's literally a year's supply for me!

My Daughter is an artist. Loves to paint landscapes. So it's Michaels arts and crafts for her. Plus she just got the DVD set of Bob Ross PBS Landscape painting, so new art supplies should make her happy.
