Question Family Ties & Nick-at-Nite

Can anyone tell me why Nick-at-Nite skips over a few episodes once in a while or plays some out of order? I don't get it.

I'm gonna try to start recording all the episodes, but its gonna be a little hard with Nick-at-Nite's stupidity.

Okay, this is what I found on the TV-Land website (Tv-Land controls Nick-at-Nite) It was under their FAQ section.

WHY AREN'T MY FAVORITE SHOWS AIRING IN ORDER?

When we purchase the rights to shows...some episodes have a set number of times we are allowed to air them within our total contract time. Others have a set number of times we can run them within a shorter period of time (ie:week or month). Sometimes, in order to be able to play holiday episodes at the appropriate time we hold an episode back. Other times we hold an episode back, so that we can put together a block of related shows in a special.

Still it can be a bit irritating, especially when you're viewing the
show,or any show for that matter, for the first time ever.

Nope. Actually, when TV Land first began in April 1996 it was officially called "Nick at Nite's TV Land" However, within the last couple of years they've dropped the "Nick at Nite" part. Both stations are owned by the same company and often share shows. (i.e. The Jeffersons, All in the Family, Three's Company etc.)

Default The Times are unfair

You know, I like Nick at Nite as much as the next person and I enjoy watching "Family Ties" along with "The Cosby Show", but I hate the timeslot that "Family Ties" is in which is real late at night. Why couldn't they ahve just moved the show right after "the Cosby Show", I mean, TCS was the original lead-in for Family Ties when it came on NBC. They should have the schedule like this

9:00 & 9:30- The Cosby Show
10:00 & 10:30- Family Ties
11:00 & 11:30- Cheers
12:00 & 12:30- All in the Family (we really do not need the extra Cosby shows, even those that will come on the next night)

Come on, Nick at Nite. You can do better!

This is not directed at the poster, but that stuff about only being allowed to air certain ones certain amount of times sounds like total horsesh*t. When you buy the rights to something, you should be able to what you want with it. And a contract?? When you buy something you don't get to own for a limited time only! You get it for as long as you want it. This sounds so dumb. I mean look at the Cheers and Cosby eps. They air twice over a two day period! The Cheers at 1am is repeated the next night at 10! Don't give us this crap about only airing what you're allowed.

yea isnt that rediculous? and what i dont understand is.. when they show cheers out of order, there shouldnt be any reason.. they like purchased the damn show.. lol they made their own cuts of the episodes!! whats the reasoning for that? and i think having FT on that late at night is another stupid thing. All in the Family has run its course on nan. its on tv land, and it should be bumped to twelve and FT move up to 11.. your right.. we dont need to see episodes that are going to be on the next night..
