Aren't these the same person?
http://www.johnnygosch.com/images/image001.jpg http://www.forthelost.org/images/GarechtSuspect.jpg They look like the same suspect to me. How about you guys? you would think the cops would have seen this. |

According to this thread in websleuths, Johnny's mother used the same picture as the suspect in the Michaela Garecht case on her website as a possible suspect/lead that eventually went nowhere.

I think that theory has been around for awhile now. The first I heard abut it was in the mid-90s. There was an AMW special about abducted children. They mentioned Michaela, and possibly Amber Schwartz, and other little girls who had disappeared in California throughout the 80s. If I remember correctly, they also spoke of Johnny Gosch and even Tara Calico, and suggested that all of these children were victims of a ring of kidnappers who abducted children fro human trafficking and prostitution purposes.
Allegedly the man in the composite (Garrecht's abductor) was part of this ring and his first name was believed to be "Tony." Not sure if LE ever verified any of this. I haven't heard anything about it in years, and it seems like there are new directions now, such as Bidner and Herzog et al. |

At one time, Michaela's mother felt the same man who took Jaycee Lee Dugard may have taken Michaela as well. http://www.dearmichaela.com/p/the-kidnapper.html

Mrs Gosch has been a constant crusader for her son's return. She has also done extensive research about other missing children. Her willingness to explore so many possibilities in an effort to find Johnny is admirable. Unfortunately, I think this has left her vulnerable to grief predators.

I was watching Missing Johnny. They showed that suspect drawing on the special. I thought it looked early similar to Michaela's suspect. So I asked.

I think her understandable distress over the loss of her son has left her vulnerable to people with less than good intentions, much like Amy Billig's mother was subjected to wild goose chases and false leads. Unfortunately, I think Mrs. G is less capable of separating the wheat from the chaff than Mrs Billig was. |
