why so short?
I love lucy has never died but the original running only lasted from 1951-1957.. Does anyone know why it did not go on longer???

It did not go on longer because Desi wanted to do 1 hour shows instead of half hours so instead of ill the lucy desi comedy hour was born

Also the work was getting to be too much, what with putting out a new show every week and running Desilu, so they decided to do the one hour shows that came out once a month.
