I heard that Brian Keith shot himself and died. Was this an accident? I also heard that he had cancer. Strange I don't remember reading this when it happened. Does anyone know more about his unfortunate death?

He had cancer and committed suicide by shooting himself.

You are absolutely correct, he did commit suicide. I am told that he was very ill at the time.
