Hey Guys,
Been a while since I've posted here. I have had some time to go through all my Honeymooners material and I'm trying to make a list of what I don't have. First - How accurate is the booklet that comes with the Lost Episodes 1951-1957 boxed set? Are the dates correct and the "program lost" notation correct? Basically I have: The Classic 39 Boxed Set The Lost Episodes 1951-1957 Boxed Set 2 Ed Sullivan episodes - The Dance & Ring Salesman The Color Episodes including - Two Below, TV Game of the Week and The Adoption. I know there are about 7 color shorts that are still missing Are there any episodes listed in the "Lost Episodes" booklet as program lost that are actually not lost and can be obtained? Thanks, Chris |

The only mistake in the DVD booklet is the listing of "Sprained Thumb" for Oct. 4, 1952. The complete Jackie Gleason Show is available at The Paley Museum in NYC. Since the MPI's DVD set release, it has been confirmed that there was no Honeymooners performed that week.
Here is a complete list of what is still missing/not released by the Jackie Gleason estate. Still missing from Cavalcade of Stars (1951-1952)... 10/19/51 "Supermarket Shopping" [Alice's Anniversary] (Poss same as "Pickles" 11/8/52) 1/4/52 "Alice's Sister Argues With Her Husband" (Poss shorter version of C39 "Here Comes The Bride" 2/25/56) 2/1/52 "Alice Finds A Dog" (Poss shorter version of C39 "A Dog's Life" 2/25/56) 2/8/52 "Cold" (Was done again 11/1/52) 4/4/52 "Surprise Party" (Poss same as "Double Anniversary Party" 10/13/56) 4/11/52 "Easter Hats" (Interesting that both versions of this sketch is missing.) 5/16/52 "Manager Of The Baseball Team" (Was done again in '53 & '57) 5/30/52 "Vacation at Fred's Landing" (Was done again in '53 & '54) The following are Cavalcade sketches that are believed to have aired between Jan. 11 - May 23, 1952. Exact air dates are unknown... "Bus Drivers' Frolics" (Alice Plays the Trombone) "The Driving Lesson" "The Expectant Father" (Alice Knitting Sweater for Dog) "The Home Run Ball" "Meat Substitute" (Poss same as "Ralph Threatens To Leave" 11/16/51) "The Mystery Novel" "Spring Cleaning" (Poss same as "Easter Hats" 4/11/52) Still missing from The Jackie Gleason Show (1952-1957)... 12/6/52 "The Missing Pair Of Pants" 4/4/53 "Easter Hats" 5/16/53 "Alice's Birthday" 10/30/54 "Halloween Party" (a.k.a. "Halloween Party For The Boss") 5/11/57 "Six Months To Live" NOTE: The 2 well known, often spoken & written about missing scenes involving Art Carney come from 2 of 4 episodes listed above. First, Carney being left on stage for 2 minutes peeling an orange, happened between Sept 1952 - May 1954, leaving this to have occurred in either "The Missing Pair Of Pants", "Easter Hats" or "Alice's Birthday." Second, the front door jamming shut and Carney having him to climb through the Kramden's window, happened between Sept 1954 - June 1955. Due to process of elimination this occurred in "Halloween Party For The Boss." Note: the earlier versions of "Halloween Party" performed in '52 & '53 are shorter sketches. "Halloween Party For The Boss" is believed to be an extended version & MPI has confirmed that "Halloween Party For The Boss" is the only sketch performed on 10/30/54, meaning it's a 30+ minute episode. Not release from The Jackie Gleason Show (1966-1970)... 2/11/67 “Life Upon the Wicked Stage” 11/23/68 "Six Months To Live" 12/7/68 "Alice's Birthday" 1/4/69 "Lawsuit" 2/8/69 "Hot Tip" 3/22/69 "The New Bowling Ball" 4/5/69 "Norton Moves In" 4/19/69 "The New Manager" |

"Life Upon The Wicked Stage" did air in syndication but wasn't released by MPI. I have the DVD that proves this.

A few other shows worth mentioning:
I suppose the skit Jackie did with Julie Andrews as Norton on their 1974 TV special would also count since it was part of a Gleason special, but then I have to wonder what other segments should be considered part of the official Honeymooners catalog. Perhaps that's a topic for another thread. |
