FYI, it's been reported that the George and Louise in a Bind and Hawaii episodes are unedited and there is a post that described the scenes not seen in syndication for George and Louise in a Bind!

As for Checking In, only it's 3rd episode is on the Bonus Disc!

I haven't seen George and Louise in a Bind but just saw the Hawaiian episodes and they are unedited and I saw scenes I had forgotten that were in the original broadcast on CBS.

Also on the Put it on episode which is the Bumpers episode there is a scene that hasn't been seen since it was shown on CBS where Helen dances with a male stripper. I don't recall seeing that on syndication.

One of the things I was surprised about was that a few "multi-part" episodes are all one episode and not broken down by parts-- for instance.

As others in the boards have reported, George and Louise In A Bind episode is unedited. It is around an hour and 10 minutes or so - it is not split up by parts. It's all one episode.

The Jeffersons Go To Hawaii -- The first part is one episode. Parts 2 and 3 are all one episode running at 48 minutes 52 seconds. And then Part 4 is one episode.

Most if not all the episodes from Season 7-11 are around 24:30-25 minutes.

I'm assuming they are all uncut. I am not so familiar with the "later" episodes as far as what was taken out/put in syndication.

I've been going back and forth watching in order Seasons 7-11 the past 2 weeks during the daytime hours and watching the "older" episodes before bedtime (sometimes I'd go to sleep with a DVD on).

As for the bonus features... I don't understand the labeling on the package. It says "And More" but the features below are the only ones I've found (that are listed)

The "Movin On Up" featurette is around 17 minutes but it's just really Norman Lear talking about the creation of "The Jeffersons" and some of the funny traits of George/Weezy and the casting of Franklin Cover and Roxie Roker - talking about the first interracial couple on TV.

The All In The Family episode "The Jeffersons Move Up" is pretty much the same as on the S5 AITF DVD Set.

The "Checkin In" episode was just OK - most of the laughs for me came from the interaction between Marla Gibbs and Larry Linville. With the show, you can see that the chemistry between the two just wasn't there so I could see why the show was cancelled.

E/R Pilot - Sherman Helmsley (ie. George) wasn't featured too much on the episode...seemed to me more like a cameo situation even though he had some great lines.

I would've loved for Shout to have gotten the rights to use segments of Sherman's, Isabel's and Marla's interviews they gave for the Museum of Television Arts (they can be found of YT) intertwined with Norman Lear's interview.

Question about George and Louise in a Bind

When Florence discovers George and Louise in the kitchen tied up, and unties Louise first, is the living shown after that? Or does the episode still end there?

The episode ends with Florence/Louise leave George tied up in the kitchen.

Did the original episode feature Florence/Louise going back into the living room to clean up the mess?

I know that the opening scene is unedited - where Florence is seen actually walking into the living room before Louise comments about her dress.

There are also a few extra clips not shown on the original DVD that came out as well as more dialogue from George/Wheezy/the robber.

What do you mean by "Play Well"? Do you mean by "is my copy defective"?

My season 9 DVDs play fine.

I had seen in another post that I was kind of speeded a bit, compressed.
I Am glad that yours isn't damaged.
I still haven't gotten mine, bought it on Amazon.

Oh I thought it was another scene after that. Florence made just a big deal about how messy the apartment was in the living room and it was weird it was never shown

Haven't noticed what you describe as "compressed" or "sped up" episodes - though I wasn't really looking for it. I will try to re-watch that season again to see if I notice what you're talking about.

I had gotten my copy in early November from Shout!
