Default Dennis the Menace Marathon

In case anyone isn't aware, there is a Thanksgiving Day Marathon going on right now on Antenna TV. It started last night at midnight.

I love Dennis the Menace... one of my favorite shows. I had it on the whole time I was cooking!

Dennis was a sweet, lovable, well-meaning boy. Sure, he got into mischief, but his heart was always in the right place.

Actually, I think he represents in some way most boys at that age. We can relate.

You can always count on Antenna to come up with a great marathon. I enjoy Dennis The Menace as well. Great cast of characters-my favs were Dennis's father and Mrs. Wilson.

I loved Henry Mitchell and Mrs. Wilson. I also loved how much Dennis adored his mother.

"Good 'ol mom"

No doubt about it, the show had a lot of charm!

The show had a lot of charm and also reminds me of my own childhood. I remember the childhood pranks some of the kids pulled. I remember the unintentional messes some of the kids got into. And I remember the neighbor who didn't like kids and would peek out the window waiting for someone to merely touch her grass so she could come and scream at us to "get off of my lawn!" So watching Dennis the Menace feels like being in familiar territory. The only thing I can't relate to is wearing the same clothes every single day and night for years!

Were those Dennis' play clothes or did he even wear them to school?

Did he even go to school? Seriously, I can't think of any scenes of him in school. All I know is I've only seen him in those overalls and striped shirt (first picture) except in the last season when they finally let him change clothes. He no longer wore overalls at that point, but still kept wearing a similar shirt (second picture)

Okay, but he did talk about school from time to time. Example: the episode where he brings home the school's eggs that are to hatch into chicks. They are eggs from his class... he brings them home.... and when the electricity goes out, he can't put them in the incubator, so he brings them to Mr. Wilson's house.

BTW, Little Ricky, those are really nice pictures of Jay North!
He was such a sweet boy... not a mean bone in his body!

I don't remember that particular episode. I don't doubt you. I'm sure there were probably several school references, I just don't remember them. He seemed to be spending most of his time antagonizing Mr. Wilson.

I didn't get to watch the marathon!! We weren't home on Thanksgiving! I've been watching Dennis on weekdays though lately being I'm not working now. I love it. such a cute wholesome show. Dennis is an adorable kid. And I love the adult characters too! Mr.(George) Wilson is hilarious, And John Wilson is good too , he played the part well for a more grown up Dennis, and George was perfect with Dennis when he was little with his overalls!

I have never seen an ep when Dennis was going to school! It seemed to always be Saturday!!
