Anyone here have this channel? The show with Perry Como involves the Norton character, who is heard, but not seen. Carney (as himself) sneaks Perry Como & Dinah Shore into a concert through the sewers with Norton's help. Every copy I've seen has something edited out of the sewer scene and the 45 minute run time leads me to believe the copy they're broadcasting will be edited as well...

Thanks, Bill. I was wondering why there was a nearly 7 minute difference in the running times and that may explain it.

The Tuesday, November 25 show aired as scheduled.
It is the Dinah Shore Chevy Show w/ Art Carney, Stubby Kaye, Perry Como.
Premiered 1/13/1957.
This episode seems to be intact w/ the entire sewer scene &
is 53 minutes with commercials.

The Thursday, November 27 show did not air.
In fact there was another Dinah Shore Chevy Show scheduled for
Friday, November 28 & that didn't air as well.

I emailed JLTV and asked if there was plans to re-air that 2nd
show w/ Carney & they haven't replied.

The 1/13/1957 is a very good show. An interesting side note, Carney announced he was leaving The Jackie Gleason Show 4 days after this episode aired on 1/17/57.

What happens after they climb the ladder in the sewer scene to enter the place they're sneaking into?

When they are in the sewer, Carney climbs the 1st ladder &
pops his head up & hears Count Basie performing. Carney comes back down.
Como says he's going to listen to Basie while Carney & Shore move onto the 2nd ladder. They both climb that ladder & enter the backstage to the "St. James Theater" where they stumble upon Stubby Kaye. Kaye performs "JUBILATION T. CORNPONE" from "'Lil Abner." Shore & Carney join in for the last chorus. Scene ends.

After comparing it to what is on youtube, other than the originals ads removed, the only thing that looks to be removed is the opening here with the Chevrolet ad...

Something tells me that perhaps that scene was usually cut because of the song & the issue of music rights.

FYI, here is Stubby performing the song in the movie...

For whatever reason, the Norton scenes were also removed from the version on YouTube...
