And of course the reason they couldn't say those things to eachpther is because Sherwood wrote the stroies keeping the Profesor ASEXUAL. But we still love the Professor that way. How many good looking men, like him, would have resisted kissing Ginger and said "Kissing on the mouth is far from sanitary. It could lead to all sorts of bacterial transfer" LMAO

Believe me, the many women who had a crush on the Professor, like myself, did NOT like the Professor being asexual! haha We wanted a romance! In today's TV, they WOULD have said the things they said in the pictures to each other, and the Professor probably would have romanced every woman on the island, married or single! lol

Yes, not only did the Professor not show much interest in romance, neither did Gilligan! Gilligan seemed almost scared of women! lol I've read in some posts on here that the censors didn't want any romances developing on the show. Seven people stranded on an island, all but two being single. That would have been very interesting to say the least! I don't think that would have flown with the censors back in those days!

I've read the censors were pretty strict back then, but if you watch the show, you see several scenes where you wonder how some of those scenes EVER got past the censors!

It was kinda biased too, Prof Gal because they wouldn't let Dawn show her belly button, but would show other things that were even more revealing. I don't think the censors knew what they were doing, or wasn't paying as much attention as they should.

They did the same with Barbra Eden. They didn't let her show her belly button.

I'm glad it was written just as it was. I would like to see a return to "Standards" in TV.

'Pinger' is the ship name. It stands for Professor/Ginger. Same as MAG is the ship name for Mary Ann/Gilligan and MAP is the ship name for Mary Ann/Professor. 'Ship' stands for 'relationship' in the world of fandoms and fanfiction. It can also mean 'worship', as in, "OMG gurl, I 'ship MAG so hard."

Sometimes the reserved, quiet men who don't seem interested really are if they get started!
