"The Mindy Project" Taps Lee Pace as Mindy's First [Spoiler]

"Pushing Daisies" star Lee Pace will guest-star on the Fox comedy as a successful tech entrepreneur — and Mindy’s first sexual partner, E! Online reports.

When Mindy knew Pace’s character, Alex, he was a nerdy college student. Now, he’s a millionaire (and rather good-looking, to boot).

Pace, who currently stars in AMC’s "Halt and Catch Fire", is booked for only one episode as of now. (Read: He probably won’t pose a giant threat to Danny and Mindy’s relationship.)

Diamond Dan lap dances for everybody!: Fox has ordered more episodes of "The Mindy Project". The network announced on Friday that it has added six additional episodes to "Mindy‘s" current order, bringing the Season 3 total to 21.

The order suggests that Fox has faith in the comedy, which has struggled in the ratings this season. Per Fox, "Mindy" averages 3.1 million viewers each week and sees significant gains when DVR viewing is factored in.

It's a good thing that more episodes were ordered for The Mindy Project for its current season (from 15 to 21). It is said that Mindy Project gets significant multi-platform and DVR gains, and is also popular with women 18-34. Universal Television, Mindy Project's production company, probably wants to make an attractive financial deal with the FOX Network to keep Mindy Project going long enough to accumulate enough episodes for a syndication package.
