Showtime Renews "The Affair" for 3rd Season
Showtime Renews "The Affair"
Nov 10, 2014 by Tim Surette "Homeland's" Sunday night companion, "The Affair", has been given a second season. The critically aclaimed drama will keep the infidelity going with 10 more episodes next year, despite never topping 700,000 viewers in overnight ratings. But the good news is that "The Affair's" audience has grown considerably over the course of its first four episodes, indicating that positive word of mouth is out after it was called one of the fall's best new dramas by the press. http://www.tvguide.com/News/Showtime...d-1089007.aspx |

Showtime boss David Nevins acknowledged the relationship drama "premiered at a relatively low level" in October. However, he said there was already a "big surge" Sunday night shortly after "The Affair's" two Golden Globe wins for Best Drama Series and Best Actress in a Drama Series (Ruth Wilson).
To pick up more viewers, the network will begin rerunning episodes Fridays at 10/9c this winter. Speaking about the show's future after the events of Season 1, Nevins said "there's a very clean four-season arc and a trajectory beyond that." http://www.tvguide.com/News/Kyle-Mac...e-1092022.aspx |
