Question Stars who really hate their past tv shows

Jay North has said many of times how much he hates Dennis the Menace while Billy Gray has said in the past that he is not a fan of Fathers Knows Best even though for years he played Bud on the show. And according to a book I have in my collection Sally Field gets
"very upset" whenever some brings up The Flying Nun and Gidget to her.

any other stars that now hate their own past tv shows?

Vivian Vance didnt HATE her job, she hated Fred! they didnt get along. Joyce DeWitt did enjoy the show and MOST of the people ( she was upset when she was fired) but she didnt like suzanna and the way she was treated.Priscilla Hated being Famous and wanted to quit but couldnt because she was under contract. Tina Louise thought she was the star and tried to take over Gillians island just like suzanna somers. Gary Coleman hated his character. Most stars on the Brady Bunch hated the show as well.

I think a good indicator that determines if an actor/actress appreciates his/her tv work is whether he/she is willing to do a reunion special or appear on a talk show that is doing a tribute.

My nominees:

Larry Hagman
Andy Griffith
Nancy McKeon

I can tell that you haven't read "The Other Side of Ethel Mertz" because it says clearly in the book she didn't like playing Ethel. She loved acting, but HATED her role. She didn't like acting with WILLIAM FRAWLEY because he was mean to her and called her names.

Gotta disagree about Elizabeth Montgomery -- by the accounts I read she really enjoyed doing "Bewitched". I think there's a difference between someone genuinely disliking working on a sitcom, like Robert Reed, and those who won't do reunions because they feel that you can't go home again and top what you've already done, like Montgomery. And both Robert Reed and Patty Duke, who hated doing their respective sitcoms, partcipated in reunion shows. So go figure.

..and Robert Reed did that infamous Brady Bunch variety show as well.

Elizabeth Montgomery: There was book I bought by Sam Frank about how to find your favorite shows on video. Ok book but a lot of his strange opinions. Anyway he says pretty much that Montgomery hated Bewitched.
He also went on to say thats why Montgomery did many adult tv movies later in career, like the one where she was raped, to get away from Bewitched. But there was a lot of other miss info in that book so who really knows for sure.

Vivian Vance: I read the book about her. One must understand that she was going through serious problems with her mariage to Phil Ober and of course she didnt get along with Fred and from what I read about Lucy can be quite tough to work with too. But..she respected and admired Desi and I dont recall ever hearing her say point black she hated I Love Lucy though.

I also heard that Bette Midler hated her recent sitcom so much she would not allow her own child to watch it. Interesting the large number of tv/music stars that wont allow their kids to watch tv, listen to radio, or even listen to music. For example I read on the AP once that Madonna wont allow her kids to listen to rock or country music, not even her own. Just classical.
Strange!!

..but of all the stars there are I dont think one can top Jay North when it comes to hating his own series. Never forgot the NBC special he was on 10 years ago saying that the sight of Dennis the Menace makes him vomi and that how much he loved his wife because she hated Dennis the Menace. If I can remember he even slammed NICK for even airing its reruns. Nick must got the message because the reruns stopped on that channel soon after.

...and Dennis the Menace wasnt that bad a show. At least the first few seasons.

David Cassidy has had a love hate thing going with The Partridge Family for years. He used to refuse to even talk about it but in the last few years he has redone some of the songs from the show.

I gotta disagree with the Joyce DeWitt thing....she liked doing the show but she didn't like the producers. But i can't understand about Priscilla Barnes! She looked like she was having so much fun!
