Default How Do I Get Free Medical Insurance?

It's gonna be a long time until I can get a full time job. So I wanna ask ya'll are there any medical insurance companies that have free medical insurance for poor unemployed people? Please let me know because I gotta wait 30 to 45 days for social services to let me know if I've been approved for welfare money and medicare. I would like to try and get medical insurance for free now because there's no telling if I'm gonna get approved for welfare money and medicare. There's a possibility they may not approve me and if they don't approve me, I don't know what I'm gonna do for money because I just don't have any luck trying to find a job. It seems nobody wants to hire me because nobody has been calling me in awhile. I'm so sad about my situation because I want a job so bad because I need money and I can't survive without it. The sad thing about me trying to find a job is that jobs don't give a damn about me being unemployed. They just don't give a sh*t. What really pisses me off about being unemployed is that I really hate it when white men job supervisors say black men are unemployed because they're lazy and they don't wanna work which is bullsh*t.

I want a job. So don't put me in the category of unemployed black men that don't wanna work and would rather sell drugs and be a criminal because that's not me. I don't know why jobs are ignoring my emails because I've emailed my resume to lots of jobs and jobs have been ignoring me. I don't know what else to do. All I can do is hope that social services approves me for welfare money because if they don't, I don't know what I'm gonna do about money.

As I posted before I think everyone in the United states that is low or no income can receive free medical care under Obama's new laws. So I am sure you will be approved. 30-45 days is a wait though. If you were very ill, like say terrible stomach aches, bad headaches or a broken bone, you could go to a county hospital and they would treat you even before being approved. you want to get that test done to see if you have the learning disability. Not sure if they would be able to do anything about that till you have the free medical approved though. One thing I can think of is if you go to a county facility and tell them you are really depressed and want something done now, because you are afraid of being homeless and your having a tough time getting a jog, maybe they would speed things up for you. Because all this is making you depressed and depression can really end up getting bad. Another thing, do you belong to a church? Maybe ask at your church if they have any advice or can recommend where you could get free medical care. Church's help people out a lot with different things.

Good luck to you and sorry you didn't get that job, but keep trying. Like you said too, if you apply at jobs at least you can get your unemployment money. God bless you, hoping all the best for you.

no insurance company is just gonna give you free insurance - it doesn't work that way - the Affordable Health Care Act just makes it so you can get subsidies for your healthcare depending on your income, it is not free and you have to prove your income through your income tax and apply online through the HealthCare.gov website.

if you want FREE health care then you have to apply for welfare and medicaid.

I applied for welfare and medicare Robyrob. I'm gonna check out that medical insurance website you posted. I mailed my welfare money and medicare application on October 22nd. So I should be hearing from social services by November 23rd or December 7th because I counted today 30-45 days from October 22nd but they probably didn't get my application until the next day. I applied for TANF which stands for temporary assistance needy families. I really hope they approve me because I need the extra money and medicare. From what I read about TANF, it said that the money can be used to pay for rent, bills, clothes, food, medical supplies. You have to reapply for it in 6 months and then you get it for 12-36 months. I think I'm gonna be without a full time job for a long time because emails that I've sent to jobs, they have ignored me and I don't know why. I haven't gotten any unemployment money since September because no jobs have been calling me. I'm lucky I got my part time job because if I didn't have that, I would have no money.

well, times are tough and it doesn't pay to sit back and wait for something like that to come through, your best bet is just to try and get any job you can - even if it is a crappy one - just to get money and it actually looks better when you are trying to get a job.

keep applying for things and make an effort to visit these places in person rather than just sending out emails - you want to make a good impression and be at the top of the pile, not lost in there with all the other emails.

Trouble is a lot of jobs these days don't post an address or a company name or phone # in their ad. Just an Email address. But you find most job listings just tell you to Email a resume! If you are lucky some give phone # but mostly they just tell you to Email a resume.

I agree with Bonniegirl62. Like she said, a lot of jobs don't give their company name, address, phone number. So they would rather you send a resume. Plus my job skills are limited because cleaning and porter work are the only jobs I'm good at. I'm not good at getting jobs that pay a lot of money because those are the jobs that I struggle with because you have to be able to figure out things and those jobs are challenging. No job supervisor is gonna take the time to keep explaining to me how i'm supposed to do my job because he or she will find somebody that can do the job without having to be told several times how to do the job. That's why I think I have a learning disability because I don't do well with figuring things out that is challenging. I know you may say well how do you know you can't do jobs that pay good money unless you try the jobs and see if you can do the work? Well the problem with that is that job supervisors aren't gonna hire you unless you got experience and I don't have experience for jobs that pay good money because supervisors aren't gonna train me on how to do the work. They just don't have the time to do that.

I told my dad this morning about it's possible I may have a learning disability and he said some negative stuff which I knew he was gonna say because he doesn't wanna believe it. He said he thinks I need to make some changes that would help me get a job and he said I don't wanna do that which is a lie. I think what he's talking about is if I wear the right clothes for a job interview and do some reading and studying, I could find a job. What he's talking about may help me get a job but it's not gonna matter if I apply for jobs that I don't have experience because I'm not gonna get the job. It's as simple as that. I've gone to job interviews before wearing the right clothes and it didn't matter because I didn't get the job. I don't care if my dad doesn't believe that I have a learning disability. I'm gonna do what I want and wait to see if I get approved for welfare money and medicare and if I get that, I'm gonna go see a doctor like I said and get tested to see if I have a learning disability. If I get diagnosed, then I will apply for SSDI money. He also said to me if I do get SSDI money, I won't be able to work anymore and if that happens, so what. I would rather work than get government money. But what am I supposed to do if I can't get a job? I gotta survive and I can't live without money and if I get government money for the rest of my life, so be it. I'm not trying to be homeless and without money.

Cleaning jobs and porter jobs at a apartment. I appreciate your help TVFactFan but I don't think you can help me because I live in Maryland and you live in Philadelphia.

Do you check on Craigslist for job listings? Every city has it's own Craigslist. Good for job listings, apartment listings, etc.

Bonniegirl62, I check on Craigslist all the time for jobs. That's how I've given job contacts to the Virginia employment office so I can get unemployment money. That's really the only website I look for jobs. TVFactFan, I live in Fort Washington, Maryland. I noticed today when I filed my weekly claim for unemployment money on the phone, they asked me for 2 jobs company names and that's it. They didn't ask me for the company address, phone number, person's name who does the interviewing. Those are the questions I'm asked at Virginia employment website and I was surprised. So I'm gonna call the employment office on Friday to see if the money got sent to my checking account because I might get a call from them asking me the 2 jobs company names addresses, phone numbers and people's names that I talked to just to make sure I'm not lying to them about the job contacts just so I can get paid.
