Oh No Why the hate on autistic people?!

Oregon mom who claimed she threw 6-year-old autistic son off bridge arrested after cops find body
Jillian McCabe was arrested after she called police and told them she tossed her 6-year-old severely autistic son, London, off the bridge. The 34-year-old mom was struggling to care for the boy and his father, who has multiple sclerosis, family said. On a now-defunct blog, the 34-year-old wrote about the challenges of raising a child with autism.

A one-time mommy blogger who claimed she threw her 6-year-old autistic son off an Oregon bridge was arrested after police found the tot’s body in the water.

Jillian Meredith McCabe was arrested Monday after she dialed 911 and told dispatchers she hurled her son, London, off the Yaquina Bay Bridge in Newport.

Police and firefighters searched the water below the bridge and found young London’s body around 10:20 p.m., about four hours after McCabe called 911.

McCabe was arrested at the bridge on suspicion of aggravated murder, murder and manslaughter, police said.

Jillian McCabe struggled to care for London ― who was non-verbal and severely autistic

and the boy’s father, who has multiple sclerosis, Andrew McCabe, London's uncle, told NBC News.

"They haven't had a lot of luck," he said.

Jillian McCabe set up a fundraising page after Matthew McCabe’s MS diagnosis to help with family expenses.

“Matt went from the sole bread winner and provider to not in a matter of 2 weeks,” she wrote. “I am scared and I am reaching out. I hope I am not coming across trashy or over-reactionary. I must explore every avenue to take care of my family right now.”

Before Matt McCabe’s diagnosis, the 34-year-old mom blogged about taking care of her severely autistic son.

“We started this blog, we wanted to use it to talk about what works for us as parents of a child with Autism, convey how hard it is, and to discuss what toys/equipment/things around the house that have been beneficial to London,” she wrote in 2012.

The blog has since been deleted.

Earlier this year, Matt McCabe wrote on a separate blog that he was living apart from Jillian McCabe.

This is insane! I feel that the disabled should be defended more since many of them unlike me can't defend themselves!

The mother was clearly depressed and not thinking rationally.

So sad...

Autism is nothing to to joke about, nor is it something people should use as an excuse to insult someone.

I have at least a little autism.

Very sad to hear about. It's always sad to see such horrific examples of sin in the world...I pray for the family that God will touch their lives with His love through it all and bring them to faith in Jesus.

I don't know why ignorant people diss and laugh at people that are mentally slow. That's not their fault that they were born like that. I love Rain Man movie with Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise. Dustin was autistic and he did a very good job. He won a Oscar for that. Sean Penn also did a movie like that with Michelle Pfeiffer called Iam Sam and he was mentally slow. He did a good job. Cuba Gooding Jr did a movie called Radio and his character was mentally slow. He didn't talk that much but he loved football. Ed Harris who was the high school football coach started letting Cuba hang around him and the football players because he saw Cuba loved football. He even fed him a few times and one of the white men that was a parent of the football player got a little mad that Ed was letting Cuba hang around them. I think the white guy had a problem with Cuba because he was black and the movie took place in the south and ya'll know how whites in the south felt about blacks back in the day. Most whites are still racist towards blacks.

True...even some who are handicapped get it in their life...I was 1 when I was autistic, so I wasn't really born that way it may have came from the vaccinations.

The other thing is...unlike blacks, gays, and Jews...the disabled have less of a chance to defend themselves!

Wrong, Dude! You're born with autism, so you can't get it through vaccine.

Excuse me, but I don't see any connection between autism and some vaccine. You're born autistic and will remain so for the rest of your life. And I don't see how some medication can "make it worse".
