Saturday Night Live 10/25/14 - Jim Carrey and Iggy Azalea - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

What did you think of this week's episode?

my take on each segment:

Ebola Press Conference (cold open) – I thought it was funny and weird, i love Keenan's Al Sharpton, he just always makes him say the most hilarious things.

Monologue - I liked the song and dance, but then I like running around singing fake Elvis songs (still singing it in my head).

Matthew McConaughey for Lincoln – Yes, this worked, one of the better commercial spoofs SNL has done in awhile.

Carrey Family Reunion - I didn't really like this sketch, it just seemed too self-serving and the impressions were just so-so.

Graveyard - this sketch was pretty good, had some good lines worked overall.

Iggy Azalea – "Fancy"/"Black Widow" - I like Fancy but this wasn't the best performance, it seemed to have some sound issues.

Weekend Update – this was mostly just a few throwaway jokes that mostly didn't work. The Romantic Comedy Expert bit was predictable but worked anyways. Drunk Uncle is an old stand-by now, it is always funny and Moynihan at his best.

Secret Billionaire – I liked this one - although more so for Jim Carrey than the other characters who were mostly just background filler leading up to his parts.

Ghost Chasers – I thought this sketch was pretty stupid for the most part, Leslie Jones was funny but the sketch just went on for far too long with just the one joke being played out.

10 Days After the Zombie Apocalypse – this sketch was alright; Jim Carrey is always good with crazy characters but there wasn't much more to it than that.

Office Costume Party - this sketch had some funny lines and Aidy Bryant and Vanessa Bayer stood out with some good bits.

Iggy Azalea "Beg for It" - I don't really understand the hippety-hop so I don't really know what happened here.

Geoff's Halloween Emporium – this was a weird sketch that worked well and had some funny lines.

overall one of the better episodes this year so far.

Office costume party was THE BEST! Have you seen the chandelier video? Amazing.
