Anyone know of a more active Remington Steele forum? RS was close to being one of my favorite shows of all time, and would like to interact with other fans. I own all the DVDs....got them all, mostly brand new, at very low prices on Amazon.
I was watching an episode last night - "Small Town Steele", and one scene that cracked me up was when that little Yorkie mix dog was crossing the street and Laura and Remington were trying to get its attention, and the dog was just like the rest of the town - it didn't want to have anything to do with Laura and RS, and walked slowly right by them, paying absolutely no attention to them at all, even though RS was trying to pet him. That looked so funny. Remington Steele was a great show, and thank God they got Mildred on there the 2nd year. Murphy and Ms. "Wolf" were just too disrespectful to Remington. In "Steele Crazy After All of These Years" Murphy actually tells Laura he is going to hit Remington. I would have liked to have seen Remington beat the tar out of him. After all, RS was a boxer - the "Kilkenny Kid", and I saw him whip many a man on the show. I never saw Murphy whip anyone, or very few. Back to Mildred; Mildred really completed the team and was so funny at times, and was almost like a dear Aunt to the main characters. Remington was kind of a twit at times, the first year, I will admit. But, his character got more mature, was a better detective, and even was a better actor, IMO, as time went on. |

I've always loved the show, i just wished the network hadn't screwed around with the show so much at the end and tried to hold Pierce Brosnan's contract up so that he couldn't do James Bond.

I am not aware of any fan forum specifically devoted to Remington Steele. I am a fan from back in the days when it was originally on the air. I agree with you that it was a very positive change to write Murphy and Fox out of the show and replace them with Mildred. Doris Roberts brought a great chemistry to the show, and cutting the main cast from 4 to 3 characters gave more room for the guest stars to shine. Plus it removed the impediments to the romance between the two main characters.
