Default question about Nancy McKeon and Michael J. Fox

I was watching Entertainment Tonight the other night and they were talking about Micheal J. Fox and they said that ever since he started on Family Ties he started drinking a lot and he and his wife almost broke up over it but that means that he was drinking when he was dating Nancy. Do u think that's what broke them up??? They never mentioned y they broke up.

I don't know if that's the reason.... there are a million reasons why they could have broken up.

I wish they didn't break up! I thought they'd have made the best couple.

I think you have posted some wrong information. He didn't start drinking until after he had been married to Tracy Pollan and in 1991. Didn't he break up with Nancy or was it the other way around or was it a mutual split? I thought I had read that he was the one to break it off with her.

(AP) - Michael J. Fox turned to alcohol after being diagnosed with
Parkinson's disease in 1991, he says in his autobiography. In Lucky Man: A Memoir, the former Spin City star describes the nightly drinking binges, which his wife, actor Tracy Pollan, confronted him about. Excerpts from the book, due out in April, appear in the March 25 issue of People magazine.

Yeah his wife, Tracy, just gave birth not too long ago November 3rd 2001 to be exact to a baby girl by the name of Esme Annabelle. (He's calling her his 'Miracle Baby') They have three other children aswell. Two twins girls and a boy. The twins are named Aquinnah Kathleen and Schuyler Francis, and their son's name is Sam Michael. Just thought I'd let you all know if you didn't already.

In my opinion, the reason why Nancy McKeon and Michael J. Fox
broke up is nobody's business. You should let history be history.

Good point. You can be curious Karli, just don't make it a public announcment. What if he or she were on here. Or his kids or somethin.

We weren't exactly making a public announcement. And we weren't exactly trying to pry into other peoples business. We were wondering if the reason they broke up was listed in an article. We weren't exactly thinking......

"Oh, you know what, I'm kinda bored. I think I'm going to go ask everyone on the boards why NMK and MJF broke up, because I'm just some nosey person".

We were basically wondering if it was mentioned anywhere. I mean there are a crapload of reasons why they broke up. And I, personally, don't think anyone CARES why they broke up. We were just curious and not trying to pry.

This is just my opinion, but Nancy said something about being a private person in real life, and maybe perhaps one of the reasons why they broke up was because they were recieving too much media attention from magazines, and tv... and just basically wanted to part ways simply to get out of the media spotlight and get out of the tabloids and everything... you know what i mean?
Im sure there were several reasons, but that could of been one of them dont you think?

I KNOW THAT I DIDN'T POST N E WRONG INFORMATION B/C I HEARD ON ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT THAT HE STARTED DRINKING WHEN HE WAS DOING FAMILY TIES. I WASN'T PRYING I WAS JUST WONDERING. GOD, DON'T HAVE A HEART ATTACK. O I ALSO REMEMBER READING IN ONE OF MY NANCY ARTICLES THAT SHE DOESN'T LIKE TO TALK ABOUT HER ROMANCES TO NEWSPAPERS B/C SHE DID BEFORE AND THEY SAID SOME VERY HURTFUL THINGS. I MEAN, NOTHING WAS EVER MENTIONED ABOUT Y THEY BROKE UP. I THINK A LOT OF PEOPLE R PROBABLY CURIOUS AS 2 Y.
