Default Would this work today in a revival?

Like a lot of the revivals, I think this could happen.

They would need to do this ASAP as Charlotte Rae is not young anymore.

They would also have to take into consideration events from The Facts Of Life Reunion Moive in 2001 if they made a new series.

By now, Jo and Tootie's daughters would be going off to college, or done college. Would Natalie have married her boyfriend, what about Tootie and that other guy who wanted to do the Theatre with her? Would they all be back?

Could it work or couldn't it?

Or would there be a new Eastland of today with Blair's kid she had with Tad living there? I think that would be a good way to bring the series back. Blair being Headmistress again, Mrs. G. working in the kitchen or advising the kitchen staff and the kids, Tootie being a drama teacher there, Natalie an English Teacher. I think if they did something like that, that would be as close as they could get to a revival.

If it came back, it'd probably be on the Hallmark Channel, maybe Disney Channel, possibly online only. I cannot see it coming back to any of the "big 3." Also, I highly doubt the original cast would return to their roles on a regular basis as older versions of themselves. They've all moved on. I could see a next-generation type of deal with the actors from the original making cameos, or just have the series start all over again with new young actors playing the characters. It would work I think, the format would just have to be modified a bit. Sort of like Zoey 101 is kind of a modern day version of The Facts of Life.

I think the setting of the show would work as a reboot, but I doubt all of the girls would come back to be regulars on it.

If Blair and Tad had a baby it would be around 12-13 years old at the latest so in a couple of years it would work.

So Tootie and Jo's daughter's are the same age right? How old would they be? I think it needs a plot that is centered around them because viewers will be more interested in the offspring of the girls as opposed to bringing strange kids into the mix....

Jo and Tootie's daughters are dating......each other..... and the gang marinating on that news.....then they drop another bombshell! They're getting married!

Charlotte Rae is now 90, but if Betty White can act in her 90s. I don't know if Charlotte would be up for it, even if a minor role.

Lisa Whelchel is right around the same age Charlotte was when Facts premiered, so she could be the true Mrs. G in the setting (she was too young to be so when the show ended in 1988, for the proposed spin-off).

It's plausible...it could have four new students and the pilot would have the original cast.

I don't care to see a revival; you can't top the original.

More than likely it would be on Netflix. I could totally see them making at least som sort of version with at least one of Blair's kids and her/other past character's making appearances.

I'd expect that as well.

It may also be on Crackle since they show many Sony shows.

I like this idea and I would watch it. But I think the show should be centered around Blair's oldest child she had with Ted and a couple other classmates from her school. The school would still be coed and Blair would be the headmistress of the school. Mindy would also be in the show but her character after divorcing her husband Harper and leaving her job as investigative reporter with Harper. Would take a job at Eastland as His teacher and den mother to the kids. Also Lisa's real life daughter Clancy would be in the show as a new hip young teacher fresh out of college.

I doubt it. I recently rewatched a number of episodes, including the "Jo becomes a teacher and is contacted by a recruiter/Nat sells swimsuit calenders to the chagrin of the college" episode in season 7, there's no way they can remake the plot or have characters one could grow up with and all like, even learning though their mistakes.

Plus, reboots do nothing of value.

As was said, why not do a sequel - in the same spirit as the original show (When Jo started, season 2) - with new girls and have the original cast around as Mrs Garrett types on occasion?
