this may be a bit of an unusual thread.
Several weeks ago, I watched part of one of his shows online, and I must say, I found his singing to be surprisingly not horrible. I can actually sense shades of the late, great Conway Twitty in there. I kid you not. But maybe that's just me. Actually, the whole part of the show I watched wasn't objectionable at all. Susan was giving away free copies of his records to ANYONE that wanted one, postage paid and everything. Speaking of Susan, does anyone know anything about her? I've always wondered if she had a part in the nefarious things that went on or if she was unaware of most of it. Pretty remarkable because I was totally expecting to be repulsed by the program. Btw, it seems like I'm the only one on here who has never gotten one of his pamphlets stuck on my windshield. I know this sounds weird, but I feel left out in a weird sort of way. LOL! |

Earlier this year, a podcast I really like - "Oh No Ross and Carrie" - investigated what the Alamo church is like today. It was strange enough that they went back and did a follow-up episode.
Here's the first part: http://ohnopodcast.com/investigation...skirts-allowed |

As for Susan, I get the vibe that she knew about the sweatshop conditions, but perhaps not about Tony's more nefarious actions. This is total speculation on my part, however. I believe all of the allegations of child abuse, molestation, threatening a judge's life, etc. all came after Susan was already gone, recalling what UM said. I'd love to know more about her involvement. |

Another big question I have is: Was Susan's dead body ever found after Tony stole it?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susan_Alamo Tony's wiki says her body was returned finally after 16 years, but the cnn.com citation that confirmed this has since been removed. I hope very much it is true. |

thank you. I found an article where it talks about Susan's body being returned. It's not too far down:
http://www.pfo.org/rememberalamo.htm There are some other doozies in there, particularly about the living conditions. Showers were about once a week and the toilets were not flushed for 3 days with 60 men using them. That's a mental image I can do without.

That's gross about the living conditions. I wonder if the women and children had it as bad, since that ex-follower didn't know. |

Huh. So much for my theory Susan might have been unaware of most of the goings-on. Here is a good article I found that talks about Susan's daughter's experiences with her mother and Tony. Lots of info in here I didn't know before. This is really worth reading
http://www.splcenter.org/get-informe...daughters-tale Also, I remember Stack stating in the segment that it was believed Tony might be going blind. Apparently, he is legally blind due to glaucoma and has been that way since at least 1991. I don't believe he's fully lost his sight though. |

That was indeed a very interesting read. Shows Susan in a whole new light and really explains why Tony couldn't continue as strong without her to steer the ship. |

My latest true crime article covers two SOLVED cases. First Dennis Depue commits a crime so heinous Hollywood makes a movie out of it. Then I cover the Sinister Minister Tony Alamo who robbed graves, commit his congregation to slave labor, rape and other crimes. |

Thanks for the article, wiseguy. It made me really mad and has definitely changed my view of Susan Alamo. She really knew how to look outwardly charming, didn't she?
It disturbs me that Alamo still has followers, but I'm glad he's not getting out of prison to hurt anyone else. |

I'm not surprised at all. They are con artists. Unfortunately they give Christians a bad name because they abuse their authority. They are not the only ones that do this but they took it to the extreme

Anyone else think Bruce Campbell would make a good Tony Alamo?
