Most sitcom fans know that TV shows borrow story ideas from other TV shows with good and bad results. But, how many actors get to be in the same trope twice on different shows? These episodes of Family Ties and Mama's Family have similar plots and feature Beverly Archer.

Good observation.

I think it's interesting that in the Family Ties episode that Beverly's character is married to the same guy that played Reverend Meecham in Mama's Family.

I saw that actor and thought he looked familiar, but it didn't click that he was Reverend Meecham! That makes the connection is even better! Thanks for the info.
