Question The future of Golden Girls on Lifetime

I'm starting to worry that my favorite "sleeping" pill -- The 11:00 showing of The Golden Girls on Lifetime -- is going to end. I see that they are adding Mad About You to the schedule. It looks like it will be framed around the show -- I hope!!!

Does anyone know if TGG is leaving or staying? If they are staying, I will have to start videotaping each show for my own collection.

Thanks for the information!!!

Jim

PS -- I just noticed this was my 300th post!! Where's my car??

I don't have an answer but I believe this belongs on another board.

Well, since The Golden Girls board gets so few posts, and so many people visit here that get so much sitcom information, I posted it here instead. Plus, it not only involves TGG, but also Mad About You.

While the Golden Girls boards is not as popular as the FOL board, it is still fairly active. I'd hardly say it gets few posts. You're post would be better there.

I highly doubt Lifetime would take off the Golden Girls.

Thanks TJ.

I didn't mean it was a "slow" board. I just figured that it might get more recognition on the General Board than here.

Thanks for moving it...

Lifetime would have to be extremely stupid to let go of "The Golden Girls," and I do not think that they are that stupid. I do think, however, that "The Golden Girls" will be seen less and less as "Mad About You," "The Nanny," "Caroline in the City," "Suddenly Susan" and "Will & Grace" are added to the schedule. But, seeing as how Lifetime picked such great sitcoms to be added to its schedule, I wouldn't mind seeing less of "The Golden Girls."

Jordan --

That's why I was asking. I've heard that Lifetime has done exceptionally well in recent years, and they have even added a new network. So, I would say TGG are going to be saying adios in the not-too-distant future.

So, starting on Monday, March 19, the late night showing will begin with episode one. You can bet your boo-tay that I will be taping the episodes for my personal use.

Only one episode during the 11:00 time slot? Why only one? I don't mind these
new sitcoms being aired on Lifetime, but
do they have to cut it down to episode
during the night time slot?

No, there will still be two episodes on at that time. 11:00 and 11:30.

Just be sure to make sure it's 11:00 your time. I'm on eastern.

Well, I am THROUGHLY impressed with Lifetime. They responded very quickly to my email. My letter is first, followed by the response:

Question:

With Mad About You beginning in the next few weeks, I'm wondering if The
Golden Girls will remain on the network. I throughly enjoy watching the
show each night before bed, and I hope that it continues for quite some
time. I look forward to your resonse. Jim

Are you sure it's leaving? I highly doubt it, but I wouldn't worry -- some other network would pick it up soon if so! But let's all hope that it doesn't say "Bye Bye" for good on Lifetime.

Fingers Crossed!

Jordan --

They are not leaving. I wasn't sure because of Mad About You being added to the lineup. However, the show is staying with Lifetime.

Woooo Wooooo!
