why did they stop showing them? And were they in any of the color episodes? |

Mrs. Drysdale probably sent the poodle away after she had Duke's puppies.
 They showed Duke a lot in the early years of the show, but I guess he eventually got phased out.

Maybe they thought there was enough animals with all of Ellie Mae's critters. Still wish they kept the dogs though!!!
