Eek Unusual Pumpkins !!!!!!

Has anyone ever seen pumpkins like this before???

Yesterday at the market there was a whole bin of them like this. Along with the usual orange ones!!!! To me they looked like these growths are not normal (green and orange big bumps all over them) like this picture but even MORE bumpy!!! And BIG, not little gourd size !!
I asked a young guy that was working there, what the heck are these? And he said "They are pumpkins"!!! LOL!!! I know that, I was asking why they had green on them and were bumpy!! He didn't know. I also asked another employee, she didn't know either!!!

Came home and described them to my husband and some neighbors. They never saw pumpkins like that either!!!

Those pumpkins look disgusting. Looks like they have a fungus growing on them. I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole. I'm surprised your local market has these hideous looking pumpkins on display for sale. Are people actually buying these things?

Yeah, I guess they are selling. They are in a separate bin right next to the regular pumpkins, and it's the second year I've see them!

I remember years ago that same market was advertising/selling white "ghost pumpkins" like it was some new strange phenomenon! They were in a bin by themselves next to the regular orange ones too!

The white ones look strange too. Maybe people purchase these weird looking pumpkins strictly for Halloween purposes only. Not for consumption.

I bought a white one once. We carved a face on it. But somehow it didn't look as cute as an orange Jack O' lantern!

With the white pumpkins, I thought maybe something is done to them to bleach the orange color out. But no, I guess they naturally grow as white pumpkins. Strange.

You should have carved it like a skull.

Maybe this is why? Thinking maybe by confessing that I actually bought one I was afraid Retro Lee wouldn't want to associate with me any more !!!!!!
