Ever wonder why they sometimes had that chess board on the dining room table? They never used it or referred
to it. It was just there. I imagine it was somehow meant to add an element of class. Or did Carl Reiner let the prop guy put it there a some sort of joke? There one week, gone the next. Interesting but strange. |

I remember the chess board, although mostly just Laura moving it off the table. Also they had a piano that disappeared and moved.

I was just watching "Who Owes Who What" and Jerry and Rob were playing chess there at the table. Rob was telling Jerry that he hadn't gotten the money from Buddy, and Laura overheard. Jerry got up and left right away without finishing the game. So the chess board was used at least once, but I had forgotten about that episode too.

That surprises me because I don't ever remember seeing them use it
other than it just being there about a dozen times. I'll watch for it. I think DVD laughed about the piano when a caller mentioned it on Larry King Live. I wish there was a book that discusssed every tidbit about the show. The two already are very good but I'd still like to read more. |
