Default for those who have seen the movie...

did you ever try to envision the show with the movie cast? Or the movie with the shows cast? Or Charles, B.J. and Col. Potter in the movie? Or Klinger, Zale, Igor and the others who were in the show; in the movie?

Several of the cast members were offered roles on the TV series, I know at least Sally Kellerman and Rene Auberjonois was. I always wondered if they did not kick themselves for not taking the roles. Auberjonois did a lot of TV on Benson, Deep Space Nine and Boston Legal, and he would have been good as Mulchey, but a different Mulchaey (SIC, sorry Father Francis....) than what William Christopher did (who was very good). I would like to know if Auberjonois regretted it.

Elliot Gould, Donald Sutherland and Robert Duvall then (and are) A listers who probably would not do TV if asked, although all of them have, but these actors were pretty hot back in the early 1970's.

The only actor from the movie was Gary Burghoff. I think the actor who played "Spearchucker" from the film was also in the first season of the TV show. He was dropped when it was discovered that there were no black combat doctors in the Korean War.

Gene Woods who played Gen. Hammond in the movie; also played him in the show (just in the first season)

Now I want to know, will Alan Alda do television again (as he has become "bigger" than that now, as well), for one more M*A*S*H or better yet... why not make it a feature film?
