I am an actor and have the same name (real name) as a central character in a novel that Beaver had to read in LITB. I also appeared on LITB as a major character in one episode. I also had "a wonderful life" and am still alive.

Jimmy Hawkins-- sometimes credited as 'Jim'-- the central character in Treasure Island (though many people think that is Long John Silver). He played the maladjusted Dudley McMillan in "Wally and Dudley."

Correct and you got that quickly. Right Long John is probably the main character but Jim is the narrator so I guess he is a central character kinda like Ishmael in Moby Dick where Captain Ahab is the main man.

Who Am I
I pop up in the fifth season as a married friend of Wally. A few years later I was in a TV show with another actor who also appeared in season five. I would be later have a famous blonde as a significant other. I think I just gave away the answer there. |

Oddly enough, Wally made a topical reference to the wife about whether she thought Mantle or Maris would break Babe Ruth's single-season home run record. The day after this episode originally aired, Maris got his 61st home run for the Yankees on the last day of the regular season. |

(This is more related to Jerry Mathers than Leave It to Beaver.)
Who am I? I was born in the same month of the same year, in the same city, as Jerry Mathers. I used to be an actor, but I never acted with Jerry Mathers, at least according to IMDB. I am best-known for playing a character also known by an animal nickname. |

Besides Ryan O'Neal and Barbara Parkins, there is another Peyton Place alum who shows up in one LITB episode. Who is it?

Could it be Frank Ferguson who played Mr. Jeff, the tramp, in Beaver's Good Deed? He was a semi regular in Andy Griffith.

That is a correct answer. And one I didn't know! Frank Ferguson is like Ross Elliott---they are in everything. Too bad I wasn't on my toes for this one. It would have been a good question for the "Two" thread.
So...along with Frank Ferguson, Ryan O'Neal, and Barbara Parkins, who was on Peyton Place and Leave It to Beaver? |

Went through entire PP cast and came up with Irene Tedrow who was uncredited but was credited on LITB in Visiting Aunts as Mrs. Hathaway.

No kidding? Irene Tedrow? At least she was uncredited so I don't have to blush again. Irene Tedrow and Ann Doran are the female counterparts to Frank and Ross.
It's someone else. This actor had a fairly important role on Peyton Place but was only in one season six Beaver episode. |

Must be Paul Langton, who played Donna Yeager's dad in "More Blessed to Give."

Yes, Paul Langton. He played Ryan O'Neal's dad on Peyton Place.

There could be more but can you name five actors who appeared in I Love Lucy and went on to appear in Leave It To Beaver? Two were in many episodes of LITB and the others were in one or two episodes.
